FJR1300 Final drive

I have been searching and getting very conflicting information. Some info says the FJR diff will work... some say it wont.

 

 

Has anybody made this work in your 2nd Gen or RST?

 

The FJR1300 is half the price of the Vmax and has same gear ratio.

Not sure about the fjr s.d.

 

It's probably cheaper because who wants to say: "I put an fjr s.d. on my bike",

vs "I put a VMAX shaft drive on my bike!"

Actually I wish you had posted this about 5 months before, I got my VMAX unit. I'm curious now................

i put the fjr on my 99 yes it was a lot cheaper it does not have the speed sensor hole so i took the crown wheel and pinion out of the fjr and put them into the venture was not difficult took about an hour ,with the shims from both was easy to set the free play in the gears.

Still does not really answer my question. I know the gears will interchange. but getting the gears set up correctly can be very tricky and hit or miss.

 

Still looking for some one that has put the whole diff in ... after machining out the Speed sensor hole.

There seems to be some question reguarding the axle and a spacer??
