Read Dayton Duncan's book "OUT WEST" a lighter side of their adventures as seen through a VW microbus driven by an out of work English professor. When Napoleon's armies invaded Austria, the Tyrol in the west of Austria (mountainous) refused to surrender and a militia fought back under the leadership of an innkeeper named Andreas Hofer. They had a number of those air rifles. Napoleon decreed that anyone caught with one of the air rifles would be immediately hung.
