rickardracing Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Posted February 26, 2014 Well, my mom has had a lot of health issues over the past year. She fell last Friday and hit her head pretty good, concussion, lots of blood on the carpet. She has cerosis of the liver from her unwillingness to treat her diabetes. Well, that fall triggered a gamut of more issues. Hospice is coming into my parents condo today to set up a bed and other necessities. He liver has shut down, here kidneys no longer function. This is the end. Water is just building up in her tissue, she is swelling up very quickly putting pressure on her internal organs. It is just a matter of time before there is too much pressure for her lungs or heart to operate. Seeing my dad cry is one thing I cannot handle. This is hard.
XV1100SE Posted February 26, 2014 #2 Posted February 26, 2014 Sorry to hear about your Mother's health issues.
Bubber Posted February 26, 2014 #3 Posted February 26, 2014 So sorry to her about your Mom. All other words are fruitless. The best to you and your family. Bubber
ReinyRooster Posted February 26, 2014 #4 Posted February 26, 2014 Sorry to hear.....I am having similar issues with my mother, although she is not diabetic. Good luck.
Marcarl Posted February 26, 2014 #5 Posted February 26, 2014 Tough times for a while,,,rest in His hands and you'll be amazed at the blessings that can be yours, even during times of trouble and sorrow. May He bless you through this time.
Trader Posted February 26, 2014 #6 Posted February 26, 2014 Hang in there Randy, I had to watch both my mother and my father die from cancer. They both died at home. My Mum pretty much died in my arms. It's hard...no two ways about it. But although the pain is there and always will be, it does get easier with time. You can get thru this difficult time. But it's too much to do alone. Keep on asking God for help to sustain you and he will.
GAWildKat Posted February 26, 2014 #8 Posted February 26, 2014 This is a pain I too well understand. I lost Dad @22 yrs old and Mom @32 yrs old. I'm not looking forward to the day when Mike has to lose his parents as well. Take comfort that your Mom lived a full life on her terms. My hope is the pain lessens as the memories become easier to bear. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Barry1951 Posted February 26, 2014 #9 Posted February 26, 2014 Unfortunately, I too, know the feeling of losing parents too early. There are no real words that can be said but you and your family will be in our prayers that you can make it thru this time. Barry & Patti Higginbotham
utadventure Posted February 26, 2014 #10 Posted February 26, 2014 Seeing a parent, or other loved one, in pain is difficult but knowing that their suffering is done is a great relief. Although missed, they are at peace. We will keep your mother and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Dave & Jan

Squidley Posted February 26, 2014 #14 Posted February 26, 2014 Randy, I wish you all the best with your mother. I wish I could say that things will get better, but Hospice is the last portion of it. I went through it with my Grandparents and all I can say is if she can still communicate with you, ask her all the questions that you need answered. You folks will be in our thoughts.
cecdoo Posted February 27, 2014 #15 Posted February 27, 2014 Randy you are in our thoughts at this difficult time, hopefully your Mother is comfortable in her final days. Craig

rickardracing Posted February 28, 2014 Author #18 Posted February 28, 2014 Thank you all for the kind words. I do not think she will be with us too much longer. She is pretty much out of it, heavy morphine. I am having more of a rough time seeing what this is doing to my dad.
ragtop69gs Posted February 28, 2014 #19 Posted February 28, 2014 My heart aches for you Randy, I went through the same thing when my mom passed in 2009. Support pops as best you can. Prayers for your whole family. If you need, we're here to help.
