Bert2006 Posted February 24, 2014 #2 Posted February 24, 2014 Congrats.....welcome to the club Take some time and read through the tech sections of this site as you will find some great information that has accumulated through the years. See you have snow on the ground but can ride. Give it a good rinse if you have salt on the road though. Here we are still on ici and salty roads, so probably a month away from riding. Enjoy,
samklr650 Posted February 24, 2014 Author #4 Posted February 24, 2014 Yeah, there was snow on the ground when I brought her home. Yesterday was 45 degrees and clear skies, so I took her for a 53 mile ride on some of my favorite winding roads. I have been riding for 36yrs, but mainly small bikes, sport bikes and Adventure bikes, so a BIG rig like this is gonna take some getting used to. But, I do like it. She'll get a good cleaning soon along with a little maintenance. Drive spline lubing, ignition switch AIS relay installed, and probably lift the rear 1" for better handling. Just to name a few.
The Tooch Posted February 24, 2014 #5 Posted February 24, 2014 Nice bike I have an 05 as well but not an "MS" We just went through this with another member just bought his bike.....Looks like your CB antenna is on the wrong side!?
MikeWa Posted February 24, 2014 #6 Posted February 24, 2014 Nice bike. Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will really like it. And for sure swap your antennas. CB left, radio right. Mike
samklr650 Posted February 24, 2014 Author #7 Posted February 24, 2014 Thanks' for noticing that. I'll swap them out. I don't have headsets yet, what do you guys recommend? The dealership told to get J&M head sets.
The Tooch Posted February 24, 2014 #8 Posted February 24, 2014 See look at the time & fuss we saved you trying to figure out why your CB didn't work very well. Well worth 12 bucks!!!
Bert2006 Posted February 24, 2014 #9 Posted February 24, 2014 Thanks' for noticing that. I'll swap them out. I don't have headsets yet, what do you guys recommend? The dealership told to get J&M head sets. Thats what I got. If you like music get the high end ones but if its only to talk with co-pilot, cheap ones work. I have the latter, but for music they lack base.
samklr650 Posted March 14, 2014 Author #11 Posted March 14, 2014 Here's a picture of me and my wife on her 1stride on the RSMV. She loves the bike! I really like it also. So far I have put around 500 miles on it and its not even spring.
