hipshot Posted March 3, 2008 #1 Posted March 3, 2008 walked into the local "INTERSTATE BATTERY ",THIEVERYSHIP THIS MORNING ON A WHIM. asked about a gel cell battery for my '86. salesman said we don't stock them, but i can order you one for $146.00. another sales person, said "odyssey makes one for them also.".i gave them the odyssey part # and they had ONE in stock, that was "ordered by mistake." anyhow i got out the door with it for $89.00! now my question, is, do i charge it in the wet cell mode, or agm mode? help please. just jt
Guest Popeye Posted March 3, 2008 #2 Posted March 3, 2008 Hipshot; Good price, there. AGM mode, as it is an AGM battery, full automatic charge. Check while charging as specified, then 12.0-12.1v with charger off is a full charge....DO NOT USE IF LESS THAN 12.0v. Batery charger needs to be at least 6 amp for the pc680. "Compressed AGM Plate Separators: Before being inserted into the case, the Absorbed Glass Mat plate separators are compressed by 28% for extreme vibration resistance." Look at cut-away pic to see use of AGM. Also, there is a link to chargers near the top of the page. Go to this site to read about AGM, etc., & click on charging: http://www.odysseybatteries.com/index.htm Hope this helps some.
hipshot Posted March 3, 2008 Author #3 Posted March 3, 2008 thanks a bunch, popeye,i thought it was an agm, but wasn't sure. just jt
