DANG Posted February 21, 2014 #1 Posted February 21, 2014 I have a 09 RSV with 32k on her. i saw a puddle starting to form under the bike, almost directly under the forward seat, on the left side, under the rear head I found a small bolt head that was wet. It appears to be dripping off the fins of the head but cant see it an actual drip. The bolt head sits on rubber which i originally thought was a metal deck but its not. Has anyone ever dealt with this? The bike is under warranty till June. Anyone heard of a possible recall for this problem? Any insight is greatly appreciated

midnightventure Posted February 22, 2014 #3 Posted February 22, 2014 Must be the coolness and not getting ridden as much because I am seeing the same thing. It happened on one of the other cylinders years ago and I ordered the little rubber seals. While I was waiting I put a couple of layers of good electrical tape over the seals to put added pressure on. It never has leaked so I never got around to putting the seal in. Planning to look at this one closer tomorrow.
JohnT Posted February 22, 2014 #4 Posted February 22, 2014 My first spring owning my 86 I saw a puddle under her on first start up. It is a sort of known issue and resolved itself as soon as the engine warmed a bit. Never a problem for the balance of the season.
