I'm looking for a GPS unit that plays the mp3 music continuous from a to z and no random play also shuts off or turns on with the ignition.

Or if you know of a mp3 player that will do the same I would like to know.

Do not care about brand or screen resolution. I use my phone gps witch is much more accurate.

I have a Megellan Road Mate 6000T GPS. and for as much as I payed for it at the time its pretty crappy.

I mount it in my dash bag and never even look at it. its hard wired.

Thanks in advance......Ron

If there is a signal .

In the northern part of this state your lucky to have running water and a flush toilet let alone a phone signal. I'll go with the GPS for navigation.

Hey Ron, I second this. Using my iPhone 5 for everything. iTunes music , audio books, iTunes radio, Pandora all free.

GPS Maps are working great, and if you are not happy, there is option to download app from Garmin, Tom-Tom or Magellan.

I have Cobra Radar detector synced trough iPhone, so its beeping for speed traps.

iPhone camera works great to take video during ride ( this option will cut music )

If screen size is issue, I would go with iPad handlebar mounted with RAM Mount hardware, great screen size and much more. As well you can use same devices to poke others on this site and send a pics from motel after ride.

Good Luck, and say hi to your Ol" Lady.

Well you are not going to believe this but about 7 years ago they made a garmin model 360. It sold for 900.00 dollars back then, what ever you can think of it can do! GPS,MP3,E-Book,Bilingual,Bluetooth,SD Card,Phone Book with voice dial, and it will even convert your currency, not to mention handling simultaneous calls. This thing is a diamond that got over looked because of it's price. And I could go on. I bought one 2 weeks ago and will have to go to college to use it, they can be had for 25.00 to whatever. I paid 40.00 for mine, came with a cigarette lighter and suction cup mount. It is way ahead of it's time and I do not know what can touch it now. Hope this helps, Jim

Thank you Jim!!

I will look for one at the pawn shops here and I have 30 days to return it.

I kinda thought I did not make myself clear as to what I am looking for.

Un mp3 player that plays music from A to Z with out random play function.

I ran across a music angel that would be perfect if it would turn off and on with the ignition.

The reason I thought of a gps is there are so many kinds with mp3 functions I thought I might find one with a mp3 player I am looking for.

and what a better place to ask........Ron

I have a cheap little cig plug player that plays MP3s off of a SD memory card and broadcasts it to an FM station. I don't like it because it won't shuffle. The cig plug loses power when the key if off so this would be just the ticket for you. Now I realize I didn't check to see if you have a 1st gen or not.

Anyway one like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Bluetooth-Car-MP3-Player-Wireless-FM-Transmitter-Modulator-USB-SD-MMC-Red-/190687486006?pt=US_FM_Transmitters&hash=item2c65dc2036

Load your music on your phone and use it for mp3. I use mine for pandora. I also have the 765t and its a good gps unit with the mp3 capabilities. Searc e-bay for mp3 maybe "motorcycle mp3" or something like that. I have seen some neat small units. The on/off with ignition may be a trick.

The Garmin Nuvi 360 is the same as the 660 only the 360 has a smaller screen.

Both discontinued. I bought a used 660 cheap on ebay and am happy with it.

Needs a new battery though.

Nuvi models are not water proof but the Zumo models are.

I just put a baggy over it if it threatens rain.

Bought a used 765T off Fleabay, 70$. Came with mount, suction, cigarette lighter. Works very well. Not waterproof so a good ole Baggie and a rubber band keeps it oh so dry. Very inexpensive solution, IMO

Garmin Nuvi 360 (smaller screen), 660 or 760 (bigger screen) - I used 360 till it died on me, than switched to 660 (same thing, bigger screen). Load your music on SD card, plug it to gps, plug gps to aux on your bike (next to cassete player) and that's it. It can play your music "from A to Z" or it can shuffle - your choice. They also have a Bluetooth so you can sync it with your phone, if you like... Very inexpensive, $30-$40, not waterproof but zip-lock bag takes care of that...
