XV1100SE Posted February 19, 2014 #1 Posted February 19, 2014 Trike sets land speed record for custom trikes....and it was "printed" ! http://blog.stratasys.com/2013/12/26/3d-printed-trike-land-speed-record/?utm_source=outbrain&utm_medium=widget&utm_campaign=Stratasys_LowCTR&obref=ssys_LowCTR
Flyinfool Posted February 19, 2014 #2 Posted February 19, 2014 Well not really a printed trike. There were a few non critical parts that were printed.
cowpuc Posted February 19, 2014 #3 Posted February 19, 2014 Pretty cool!! Wonder if "printed" stream line kits are coming that will make em even faster. I would have thought the record for trikes would have been way above 136 by now:confused24:
cowpuc Posted February 19, 2014 #4 Posted February 19, 2014 Speaking about this whole 3D printing stuff. Tip and I bumped into this guy out in Utah, crossing the country on an electric motorcycle. He and Craig Vetter designed the stream lining stuff for his bike (made from milk carton material), says it slips thru the air like a hot knife thru butter.. He was telling me that Vetter has his Honda Helix above 150 MPG mainly running it stream lined.. I wonder if cheap stream lining kits for massive mpg improvements are in the near future using 3D technology.. Be pretty cool!!
VentureFar Posted February 20, 2014 #5 Posted February 20, 2014 Here in California there is legislation heading for a vote to deal with "printing" of hand guns with no serial number. VentureFar...
