Reaney in NH Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Hello to all, I want to start searching and collecting parts to do some upgrades on my new to me 96 RSTC. What years and models of the Vmax have best cams and valve springs? are they all the same or are some better then others? 32mm carbs?? Vmax or RSV? what years have the 32mm? Are there any that are better to use? Thank you Reaney
StarFan Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Regarding carbs - The V-Max carbs won´t fit. To big. Any year Royal Star Venture, 99 to present wil work as well as the 2005 and up Tour Deluxe.

DarrinGT Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Thank you for the info. Does anybody make the adapter plates? Just sent you a PM with Lynns email. I just got some from him. You will need the 32MM Carb Boots or Holders as well, You send them to him and he will have them milled down, and make the adapters, Runs about $100.00 including shipping back to you. I am doing this on mine as well, here is the link to my build. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=83141&highlight=makeover One thing I didn't do was the VMAX Cams.
StarFan Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Lynn Nichols (pegscraper) used to make them but have not seen him around here for a couple of years. There is a drawing of the adapter plates in the tech library - any steel shop should be able to make you a set. You would also have to mill 1/8" from the base of the intake boots since the added 1/8"adapter plate will change the position of the carburators and they will not fit in the frame among other position problems. http://www.venturerider.org/carbswap/
