Reaney in NH Posted February 16, 2014 #1 Posted February 16, 2014 I need a set of 4 into 2 Head pipes for my 96 RSTC I am wondering is the head pipes from the 1st gen ventures will bolt up? They are everywhere for cheap. I'm planning on Road King slip ons.... Does anybody happen to have a set of head pipes 4 into 2 available. Need not be perfect. I do know the Pipes from the RSV will work... already have ebay ob Auto Search for those,
Squidley Posted February 16, 2014 #2 Posted February 16, 2014 I am highly doubtful that 1st gen pipes will work without MAJOR modifications. I have a set of 2nd gen pipes off a '99 if your interested.
DarrinGT Posted February 16, 2014 #3 Posted February 16, 2014 All you really need is the back header pipe, The front ones are the same from 4 into 4, and 4 into 2. Then you need a bracket bracket for the rear header pipe, on the Ventures it is the lower saddle bag brace. I bought one and cut it down to just use the hanger. I read that you can adapt a Chrome Chevrolet Alternator Bracket for this as well. First Gen pipes wont do you any good.

But it would appear you really only need the REAR Head pipes fron the RSV 1999 and newer... and then suitable mufflers. I am using Road Kings on mine. You will also need to fab a rear bracket to support the mufflers. I will be doing mine as soon as I get it home. it is still sitting in the sellers garage waiting for clear roads and warmer weather up here in NH. Hope that answers your questions.

Also all Royal Star Venture models from 1999 to 2013 have 4 into 2 as do all Venture based Tour DeLuxe from 2005 to 2010. There is a slight difference in how the mufflers are fastened to the 1997 to 2001 Royal Star bag supports verse how all 1999 to 2013 Venture based mufflers are attached to the supports, but anything is possible if you make an adapter.
