BlueBeard Posted February 15, 2014 #1 Posted February 15, 2014 What a suprise when I hit the rear brake in traffic yesterday. Something came off the road hit the oil filter. The only sound I heard was my Guardian bell ringing. I guess My angel can fly as fast as I ride.
Venturous Randy Posted February 15, 2014 #2 Posted February 15, 2014 Man, how did you deal with all the oil that was dumped out in front of the rear tire? We need more information than this. That could have been real bad. Glad you were not hurt. RandyA
pmelah Posted February 15, 2014 #3 Posted February 15, 2014 ouch guess its a good thing your guardian can fly fast
RandyR Posted February 15, 2014 #4 Posted February 15, 2014 those bells must really work !!!! but, its hard to imagine a thin sheet of road ice being able to do that ??
Venturous Randy Posted February 15, 2014 #5 Posted February 15, 2014 those bells must really work !!!! but, its hard to imagine a thin sheet of road ice being able to do that ?? No, I think he flipped up a piece of metal that was in the road and I took his comment about black ice as being oil, but I may be wrong. RandyA
slowrollwv Posted February 15, 2014 #6 Posted February 15, 2014 that had to be a close call. I hit a piece of metal with a back tire at about 65 MPH, and it went flat in an instant.
BlueBeard Posted February 15, 2014 Author #7 Posted February 15, 2014 I think it was a piece of metal that the front tire flipped up. No damage to the tire. Underwear slightly soiled. Had the sense to get off the rear brake and on the front brake. New filter and oil installed. Everything sounds good.
