steamer Posted February 13, 2014 #4 Posted February 13, 2014 How may people know the song Blinded by the light by Manfred Mann was written by Bruce Springsteen and it was on his first album. The most miss understood line is actually Reved up like a deuce another runner in the night. He was singing about a deuce coupe. The whole song is about his days hanging out on the Jersey shore.
Venturous Randy Posted February 13, 2014 #5 Posted February 13, 2014 How may people know the song Blinded by the light by Manfred Mann was written by Bruce Springsteen and it was on his first album. The most miss understood line is actually Reved up like a deuce another runner in the night. He was singing about a deuce coupe. The whole song is about his days hanging out on the Jersey shore. Thank you for explaining that. I never was able to get past a word that sounds a lot like "deuce". Randy
bj66 Posted February 13, 2014 #6 Posted February 13, 2014 On SNL years ago, they did a Waynes World skit about the 10 most misunderstood songs. I could'nt find it or I would of linked it on here. I do remember a reference to Jimi Hendrix and them saying "Excuse me while I kiss this guy..." and another refering to CCR and Bad Moon on the Rise. It was "Bathroom on the Right..." Eddie Murphy did a Buckwheat sings skit too. I will always remember Lionel Ritchies Three Times a Lady as "Fee Times a Mady..."
SilvrT Posted February 13, 2014 #7 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) This one has bugged me for many years. I always thought the lyric was "very customersy" ... WTF kind of a word is "customersy" I thought.... On the day I first met Nina (my wife), we went to a bar and they had kareoke and someone was singing the song by Gerry and the Pacemakers. I finally heard the actual words. Nina and I laffed and laffed over that. Ferry Cross the Mersey Edited February 13, 2014 by SilvrT
Black Owl Posted February 13, 2014 #8 Posted February 13, 2014 And who could ever forget CCR's "who'll stop Lauran" (Good men through the ages, Tryin' to find the sun; And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.)
steamer Posted February 13, 2014 #9 Posted February 13, 2014 AC/DC's donder chief? Right words are done dirt cheap.
bongobobny Posted February 13, 2014 #10 Posted February 13, 2014 Girls on pills instead of girls on film...
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted February 14, 2014 #11 Posted February 14, 2014 this is a local favorite..... Langford is a suburb of Victoria, local short track racing, auto wrecking and in the past had been inexpensive land values..... we all know tose do not exist any longer.
spear Posted February 14, 2014 #12 Posted February 14, 2014 And who could ever forget CCR's "who'll stop Lauran" (Good men through the ages, Tryin' to find the sun; And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.) Or Lorraine for that matter?
steamer Posted February 14, 2014 #13 Posted February 14, 2014 So I would guess everyone by now knows what " in-da-godda-da-veeda" means?
Trader Posted February 14, 2014 #14 Posted February 14, 2014 So I would guess everyone by now knows what " in-da-godda-da-veeda" means? uh....I've lived a sheltered life I guess.....sang it.....listened to it....but still don't know what it means.
steamer Posted February 14, 2014 #15 Posted February 14, 2014 uh....I've lived a sheltered life I guess.....sang it.....listened to it....but still don't know what it means. "In the garden of Eden" The band members was so wasted they were slurring the words. When they listened to the play back they thought it had a great sound and kept it on the album. It was probably better know for its long drum solo.
