Hi all,

Well since I put a deposit on a Venture this weekend I'm seeing others for sale with slight differences...

This may seem like a silly question, but did the 2006 RSV have tank badging. The one I have on hold does not ... wondering if that means anything....

Thanks

I have an '07 with tank badges. I like them as well. Having bought and sold many (too many?) motorcycles over the years, I find bikes with stock badges sell faster than debadged bikes.

My 05 RSTD does not have tank badges because I hit a deer and the tank was changed. The shop gave me the badges but I guess they were afraid they would get them on wrong.

Gary N.;817931]Tank badges were changed in '06. Some feel that the tank badges on the '06 are too big and ugly and remove them. I like 'em.

The 2006 badge was the most detailed of them all and the nicest. Follow the link I provided above they have a close up of it. The bike shown is actually a trike conversion, but the tank is the same.

I don't know how "some feel", but, I like them better than the other years, as well. I have a pin of it, as well as, a patch. I wear the pin on my jacket. Never have done anything with the patch, yet.

Thanks for the replies....

Well if this goes the way I want it to this tank is debadged...

It'll probably stay that way seeing those prices!!

2006 was the 50th anniversary of Yamaha. (Not to be mistaken for the 50th anniversary of Yamaha's entry into racing, which was 2012.)

The 2006 R1 commemorated the anniversary with the yellow and black racing paint job on 500 bikes. The R6 came in the Yamaha racing colors that year. They also made a big deal about the anniversary at the dealerships at the end of the racing season.

While Mr. Yamaha didn't tell me so, I consider the tank badge to be a nod to the anniversary.

Somebody on here probably has a set laying in their garage that they took off. You might be able to buy for the price of shipping. Don't cost anything to ask.
