SilvrT Posted February 7, 2014 #1 Posted February 7, 2014 Does this happen to you? Sometimes when I wake up, I have a song floating around in my head. Not always the same one either. How does that happen? This morning's song .... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiGFZUnJgqU]Bobby Darin - Mack the Knife (Live 1970) - YouTube[/ame]
RevJonG Posted February 7, 2014 #2 Posted February 7, 2014 Thanks, now I will hear that song in my head all day But there is one song that last for a week no matter how hard I try to banish it: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxwoxWOd_dc]The Tokens-The lion sleeps tonight.avi - YouTube[/ame]
Flyinfool Posted February 7, 2014 #3 Posted February 7, 2014 Never happens to me. Maybe it is the voices in my head that are drowning out the songs.....
SilvrT Posted February 7, 2014 Author #4 Posted February 7, 2014 Never happens to me. Maybe it is the voices in my head that are drowning out the songs..... hmmmmmmm.... now that makes me wonder if the voices in my head might be behind this phenomenon. :scratchchin:

Barrycuda Posted February 8, 2014 #6 Posted February 8, 2014 I have an orchestra in my head 24/7. Seriously, my mom was a big music fan and I have songs in my head that I haven't heard in 30+ years...

Sounds like your Mom was/is a very very wise person... All that music drowns out the nay sayers in life and THAT has kept you the positive, admired person that we know as: BARRYCUDA
JohnT Posted February 8, 2014 #8 Posted February 8, 2014 Absolutely! Why is that? I thought it was just me. Nope, not just you. It almost is driving me nuts at times.
djh3 Posted February 8, 2014 #9 Posted February 8, 2014 Yea I get songs stuck in my head too. Sometimes good, some not so much. The other week watching Grammys there were of course songs I havent heard and some in what must have been a different language. Some wede big winners and I couldnt see why. But one by a gal called Lord titled royals got hung up in the cobb webbs. I dont like it but its like some of the old jingles off TV or the "its a small world". Dang thing is just stuck on repeat. GRRR
Oldodge Posted February 8, 2014 #10 Posted February 8, 2014 Sometimes when I am trying to get to sleep I will have a high energy song just going over and over in my mind. I have force myself to think of something relaxing, like riding, to get to sleep.
hillrider Posted February 8, 2014 #11 Posted February 8, 2014 And one of the worst is "Little girls have pretty curls, but I like Oreos".
