ACE50 , Tim,

Hey, I may want to do that this spring or summer,,, if okay.

Have thought about doing the Venture.

I know about where you are, visited Reidsville Gold Mine a couple of times.

(I'll post this now so later I can look up my posts and remember "who said".)

Too bad that little diner at the crossroads near the mine is closed,, was great BBQ.

("Rachel's" I think, was an old gas station.)

Thanks, Mike G.

I actually live in Lynchburg VA, but I'm in Reidsville at least once a month. My best friend has a cabin (mobile home on 50 acres) we use as a hub.

Let me know and we can set something up........................when it warms-up!

'preciate that!!

I have heard sooo many positive things about this modification! Knowing me, I will just go ahead and do it.

what are your experiences? I absolutely love my bike, but with 2-up and high speeds it just pisses me off. 1st gear is a dog, 5th lugs in the wind.... I think this is the ticket?

if you have a minute, give me your review and experiences.

thanks!

I had the rear off my bike 2 years ago to lube everything up with Honda Molly. I heard so much about the Vmax rear swap that I though it's all apart I'm going to go for it. I live in Northern Virginia so I wasn't too far from his shop in PA, so I took my rear and drove up for the swap. Best 300 bucks I've ever spent. I then found out as you crack down on the throttle you hit the stock rev limiter really quick. Next mod was the Dyda 3000 TCI. You would not believe the power these bikes make from 5000 to 7250 RPM. You can set the rev limiter higher but I felt 7250 was just fine for me. These 2 mods were the best bang for you buck, just my 2 cents. The extra low ratio makes so much difference in not having to down shift all the time from 5th. I found it much easier to start off on a hill also.

I find that it just taxes the engine less, reminds me of my friends Valkyrie. Acceleration just seems quicker.

If most of your riding is hyway, I might not even do it. Higher RPM's, I find I just ride a little slower on hyway as this engine just purrs at 3000 RPM's.

I ride in the mountains and city a fair bit and I really like the improvement there.

I do most of my riding on the highway and found that though the engine revs are indeed higher, my mileage wasn't affected, and in most cases improved enough to notice the difference. Just have to get used to the higher revs.. if I remember correctly, around 70 mph the egine is turning around the 3,800 rpm range but it's no longer feeling like it's lugging but more in the 'sweet spot'.. I did a comparison to the previous year's mileage runs I had done with the OEM pumkin, and found an overall improvement on highways and backroads, mostly a more consistent fuel rate than before. Keep in mind that you may tend to 'drop the hammer' with the added responsive feeling on the bike and this will drop your mileage enough to really notice ;) Fun or fuel economy, it's all in how you enjoy your ride...

But like everything else, how you ride, fuel, maintance and roads will determine your mileage... YMMV

thanks Ace50 and Seaking!

I read the numerous posts about mileage, and I see that the mpg difference is minimal. I want the "feel" i guess? One thing that is giving me doubts is the higher rpm and how noticeable that it is.

I gotta ride one!
