Of what ya'll have been getting. They are projecting (guessing) 1" to 2" for Atlanta today. Of course at the mention of snow all groceries are sold out of bread, milk and sleds. The schools are closing faster than banks during the depression and there hasn't even been the first flake seen yet.

Could be more than just a taste, where I am anywhere between 1-3 inches, I know thats not a lot by most peoples standards, but its enuff to shut down the state of Ga. Most people here have no idea of how to drive in snow and ice, I have driven in my fair share of it having been a driver for over 18 years, and I have driven in some really, really bad storms, but given the choice I would rather stay off the road, but there are those that relish the idea of getting out and driving in it and causing problems..........I will sit it out and watch.:2cents: Now I know my grandkids are going to love it.

Right now it's -6F (-21C) here in Southern Ontario.. It's been the coldest winter in a very long time.. Didn't even get the usual January thaw.. When it gets this cold driving gets a little tricky. Salt is almost ineffective.

All I know is that I would love to be down south for on of these snow "storms". I think it would be a blast watching the people panic.

I had a neighbor that was visiting in southern Texas once and there was a snow "storm", a whole inch. They brought out lawn chairs and set them up in the front yard to watch traffic. He said it was hilarious watching the people try to drive.

-10 temperatures and 10-20 mph winds in Chicago. Spend the weekend in Wisconsin helping a friend move, he really didn't think that one through!

Even on a battery tender in an insulated (but un-heated) garage the battery froze on the bike. Its to cold to even go out and fix the broken spring on the snow blower.

What would you do if you really got some snow?

I am looking out my deck slider and there is at least 18" of the white stuff with temp below zero for literally weeks.

As they said back in the day "It's colder than a well diggers nose" .:banana::banana:

Right now everyone in my office building is looking out the window and then to their email waiting for the early release memo from the Director. Everyone is cancelling meetings right and left with their car keys in one hand and their coat in the other. Still not a single flake.

I can't believe Atlanta is sold out of sleds. I didn't even know stores sold sleds in Atlanta. I've never seen one on the shelves.

I personally believe when snow is mentioned in Atlanta it is a conspiracy perpatrated by the bread and milk companies and the grocery stores to create a false run on bread and milk.

The AFB here in Warner Robins GA is closed along with all the schools in about 11 counties around me. it's 11:51am and there's still no snow, sleet, rain or freezing rain. Roomie got the day off, Mike had to report. We'll see how things go today. But at least I got the taxes done and filed! yay me. Oh, Mike comes home @ 2 to work from home.

We got maybe 1/2 inch here on the mountain.....but most of the moisture was staying south of us and it has been very dry as far as air.....been watching the radar stuff....looks like Atlanta might get it and the Carolina's

It is always a mess down here when we do get the snow but usually it is ice or freezing rain. ...and with no or very little equipment for cleaning the roads...and ignorant people trying to drive it is way to wild...better to stay home a day and keep the heater warm...lol. Suppose to be 8 degrees here tonight....quite cold for the sunny south...lol

Yah wanna come clear my driveway??

You found your snow blower? Owl you lucky guy.

I can't even find my shed! :rotf::rotf::rotf:

Ya get a little snow and ya whine about temps in the teens.

It has been -20F with wind chills -40F.

Now that's something to whine about.

Seriously for people who aren't familiar with driving is this crap, stay home and don't contribute to the mass confusion and accidents that are sure to follow.

I am charging my battery as I write just to get the truck started. Oh what fun in -10F.

Stay home, be safe and enjoy the white stuff while you can, or should I say while you have to. :whistling:

Best to all in the south just thankful I ain't getting anymore... at least today.

Coming down pretty good here in Newnan, started about 9:30, Had to take Charlene to Dr. appointment or we wouldn't have been out in it. Had breakfast after and it was still just flurries, went to daughters house to see the grand-kids and they were all excited. We left there about 12:30 and it was starting to accumulate on the ground and road, we were ok till we got about a mile from our house and 2 vehicles in front were going to turn but couldn't because they couldn't slow down without sliding, so I ended up doing the same thing and almost got 3 vehicles..........but we missed all of them. Then coming down a small hill on our street the car wouldn't turn till we went over the curb. I didn't try going down my driveway because it is sloped so much, so I ended up parking on the street. And they expect this till last till 7-8 PM. These pics are after about 1 1/2 hours of snowfall.

it's 2:10, the Georgia farm bureau just told everyone to go home, but there's only light rain here in middle GA atm. So Mike's on his way home and we still don't have snow or sleet lol. Robins Air Force base closed for the day. All the schools are closed, even the colleges.

Looks like a typical 4th of July here in MN.....

Let us know when you get some real snow.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

How about white out conditions, zero visibility, 40 MPH winds and the kids want to go out and play in this stuff. Other than that it is a little nippy outside.

Good ice fishing weather though. :whistling: :rotf:

This danged weather is getting old. last week propane in our area was about $1.50. this week about $3.50. People are predicting upwards of $5.00 per gallon. Feel bad for people on fixed incomes.......Let me see, do I need food, or heat.........sucks

We are in the middle of it here in Newnan, no let up in sight yet about 1-1 1/2 on the ground now. My dog loves it, he just runs around in it not knowing what to do. Had to drag him in from walking him.

What I find funny about this whole mess is that they are closing the schools because it is so cold out. Then the kids end up playing outside or going to the malls. What's wrong with this picture????
