windshield question

I see both the clear view and the F4 highly recommended on this site. anyone have experience with both? Prices similar claims similar. F-4 claims a bit wider than stock to help with buffeting. Also F-4 comes up to 2" taller than stock Clearview comes 1" taller and wider but with a curve at the top to increase the "bubble" of quiet?

The PO kept the bike very nice and clean but claimed to be 6' 4" so he had longer bars and a shorter windsheild?

Right now when i sit up straight I'm looking over the top of the windshield with ease. If we get a sudden florida sun shower I have to hunch down to get behind the glass.

Also tint versus non tint any opinions? yes I'm getting vented either way

I have an F4 and I was advised to get the vented model and I would pass that along. As far as the bubble is concerned my wife says that it cut the buffeting down by 50% or better for her, she loves it.:080402gudl_prv: As far as tinting goes, I wear sunglasses in the daytime and do not want to have any tinting in front of me at night!

I have had both. F4 & Clearview.. I have had both Tinted and Non Tinted.

My conclusion, would be for the F4

All shield have been talls.

I just put on the F4 tint about 6 months ago. love it. does help with the glare.

However it is tinted darker then the clearview tint. The other nice option is that you

clean it with paper towel and Windex. you can NOT do that with a clearview.

Good luck on what you decide.

I also chose the option of no vent this time around. I never saw a use for it but to catch bugs.

If it was to hot all it would do is let in hot air for me.

Height is pretty important. Needs to be right. I have the OEM and it is tall for me. In or Fla sunshowers I have had times that it becomes very difficult to look thru the windshield, my face shield and my sun glasses or regular glasses with all the water. I also made a shorter shield. It works good until I get behind a semi or trailer. Then the wind seems to really buffit you.

I have not studied up on newer windshields for bikes. I just remember what I was told years ago that no-rainx. I guess it messed the coating up or did really bad things to it. I had used it years ago on a face shield on a helmet. It turned sort of a yellowish color, but it was fairly old and I figured it was just age.
