1BigDog Posted January 26, 2014 #1 Posted January 26, 2014 This is pretty cool. I likey.... http://powersports.honda.com/2014/ctx1300.aspx
Brake Pad Posted January 26, 2014 #2 Posted January 26, 2014 kind of following the V65 Sabre, & the Honda CBX, "the new version":thumbsup2:
djh3 Posted January 26, 2014 #3 Posted January 26, 2014 Dont see alot of room for foot repositioning, but I'm sure sombody is working on that. I just read an article about best selling motorcycle brands and how many units. Honda #1 and the C something 700 was best selling bike. Its the new one they came out with sort of a cross between a scooter and a small sport touring bike.
DragonRider Posted January 26, 2014 #5 Posted January 26, 2014 Dont much care for it myself, I like some of their other bikes, but this one just doesnt look right to me. I like the engine, a V4, we all know they produce.
Squidley Posted January 26, 2014 #6 Posted January 26, 2014 It's not bad, like to see how it handles.
Eck Posted January 26, 2014 #7 Posted January 26, 2014 Ruffy, I like it. I've been looking to downsize from the 1800 since I ride solo 99% of the time. I did read where this one has an optional truck that is available (If someone would want one). I don't see where riding foot pegs could be mounted with out melted heal marks on the exhaust, but as mentioned in an above posting, I'm sure they are working on it. I have been looking at the 1600 and 1300 BMW's but just not sure what I want anymore. I am happy with my 1800wing but getting old sucks and it is getting harder to hold the thing up. I will be reading more about this one though. Thanks!
Howard B Posted January 26, 2014 #8 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Just as ECK says, getting old sucks. Turned 70 today. I kind of like the looks of the "new" ctx1300. It is a little different but it is also a little lighter. Seat is a little lower. Should make handling somewhat easier for those of us who are more wiser than younger. Not real wild with the limited color options. Perhaps a nice off white and/or beige, similiar to my 88 yvr. Edited January 26, 2014 by Howard B my mistake
djh3 Posted January 27, 2014 #9 Posted January 27, 2014 This is the one I was thinking of. No wonder I thought it looked like this one. It the baby brother to it. http://powersports.honda.com/2014/ctx700.aspx
cowpuc Posted January 27, 2014 #10 Posted January 27, 2014 Sharp bike, ya kinda hand it to Honda - at least they aint afraid to step out a little farther on the "it dont have to look like a Harley" branch to be sellable.. While I am sure their number one selling status is due to global markets and the top sales status of the 700 mentioned earlier doesnt necessarily represent American/Canadian sales, I am AMAZED at how many of these "sport touring" bikes I see on the roads out west actually touring.. As crazy as this sounds, seems I have witnessed a major change in the cross country touring crowd throughout the years, seems like the last 20 years have creeped more and more into this market.. Getting to be more common to see this style of bike on the road touring than the Venture, Wing and Ultra full touring types.. I remember vividly when the Kawasaki "Connie" came out and the Honda Pacific Coast and how many of my riding buddies laughed at em,, now lots of my buddies admire em (I always did, but I like all bikes - even mopeds).. I also wonder how more women riding has affected all this cause it seems like more and more couples are each on their own bikes and that most of these "sport touring" tourers are riding single... Anyway,, GOOD FOR YOU HONDA,,, and keep up the good work!!! Thanks for the link!! Puc
Guest Posted January 27, 2014 #11 Posted January 27, 2014 Just looking at different options if and when the time comes to dive back into the water. Whatever I decide on will be lighter, but not neccesarily under-motored if you know what I mean. I would love to see a forward control set-up on an early model VMAX too. All options are open to me when im ready. This CTX looks really sharp and not too goldwingish.
ediddy Posted January 27, 2014 #12 Posted January 27, 2014 The new goldwing and valykrie have a similar loook.
