DragonRider Posted January 25, 2014 #26 Posted January 25, 2014 Hell you must have been talking to the wife, about the only ones that dont pertain to me are the ponytail and mustache:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:....................I know there are a lot of senior citizens here and our eyesight isnt as good as it used to be, that's why I make my print so large, you can read them without glasses....................:stirthepot: I'm not trying to throw rocks or anything Lewis, I get it.... In the normal evolution of life it seems to go like this. Join AARP Grow a mustache, goatee and pony tail Try to wash the grey right out of your mustache, goatee and pony tail Buy a 1st Gen Some one in your family starts calling you Paw-Paw Start using the word cool as your new catch phrase Meet some really cool Octogenarians at a M & E Buy a car that is either convertible, sporty or red, a car with all three, even better Realizing a 1st gen is way to fast for a person of your life experience/expectancy you buy a 2nd gen. You don't go anywhere without your inflatable doughnut cushion You fall over at a traffic light because you can't get your kick stand down and walker unfolded fast enough You get an epiphany, Life is much easier if you just do what she says You buy a trike You start actually listening to the commercials selling Term Life Insurance You buy more term life for those final expenses Don't feel bad Lewis I checked ten of those items off MY bucket list so far.
cowpuc Posted January 27, 2014 Author #27 Posted January 27, 2014 Puc, I cant see anything except that beautiful chopper. Is or was that yours and did you build it. Cool looking, I never owned one, but I roade a friend of mine back in the late 80's, it was a Honda 750 with the front forks extended out so far you needed binoculars to see the front wheel. Handled like a bus trying to turn it...... [/b] Never mind the Chop, look in the upper corner of the pic on the wall above the clock,,, you may have to get some more powerful reading classes Nope, didnt "build" that one, just bolted it together,, Amen frame, rebuilt motor.. Here is a shot of one of my actual builds,, this one I had to actually mod the frame out to 46 degree's, I hung on to it for a while and rode it all over the country.. REAL NICE RIDER!!! This is also the one I burned the motor up in out in South Dakota, thankfully those old SOHC 750's are still easy to get parts for... Loved building choppers, wish the market was still there for em!! Yea,, they steer like a bus but man do they go down the highway nice!!
Howard B Posted January 27, 2014 #28 Posted January 27, 2014 I thought I was getting carried away with firearms, but you got me beat. I have less than 20 total but only 3 are air guns. I would really like to have one of those pricey competition type but I can't justify the money when there are so many bike blingy things out there to buy.
hellboy7 Posted January 27, 2014 #29 Posted January 27, 2014 Great story! Very impressed by the gun collection... I'm just curious did you make any good money on the sale? Was it worthwhile in your opinion?
cowpuc Posted January 28, 2014 Author #30 Posted January 28, 2014 Great story! Very impressed by the gun collection... I'm just curious did you make any good money on the sale? Was it worthwhile in your opinion? Yea, in my opinion we did really well with it.. After dealing with Ebay and Gunbroker we had a couple guys come and look at the collection, good honest people.. They spent a couple hours with us, gave us a copy of the air gun blue book and bought several pieces at blue book prices (couple of Fire Balls, couple of real old Bennies and some old handguns).. As I was finishing up my 5th back surgery and the medical guys were starting to get really aggressive in bill collecting we made the decision to stick em out all for one dollar, doing the right thing and paying bills.. We looked at having a combined on site auction (I had well over 100 motorcycles and a bunch of bike parts associated with my business too) but that was gonna take a LOT of time and energy which we didnt have... As it came out, we ended up with an "average" blue book price on the guns and didnt have to touch anything pertaining to shipping.. Actually did much better on the guns than I did on my bikes but I didnt have to touch them either so I cant complain... Bottom line, paid off some of the medical stuff, can walk again (was paralyzed from the waist down), and I get to carry my poppers and my old bikes with me in the form of Titanium in my back,, WIN WIN..
