I sent an email to the robo team, and received a reply indicating the built-in search function was...not all that great.

I havent had any luck with it, but may have a clue to the reason.

It seems it does not do any pre-indexing, so on EVERY search, it seems to be scanning my entire network of connected computers and it seems to not be doing anything, in reality, it just takes forever to do the search. This is my working theory and I'm trying to change the settings to deal with it.

In the meantime, I found another desktop search tool in the repository, called Recoll.

Yes thats how its spelled.

It seems to work similar to a server, where you can set the indexing intervals and it returns all kinds of stuff quickly, once the index is built. It actually works pretty well...

I'm still figuring out Robo and the debian system its built on.

Ok...back to stumbling mode...

Two words: Powered Hub.

[...]

No hubs for me... No sense in running all of the peripherals through a single bus/controller :happy34:

That being said, almost all of my large bandwidth peripherals are all either eSATA or USB3, if not jacked straight into the MB...

Works perfectly in Windows 7

After a week or so with the apple keyboard, how are you liking it?
