Hey Folks,

I have long wanted to post pics on the forum, however, I can't seem to find a way to upload them from the iPhoto Library that is on my iMac? When I click on Manage Attachments, then Choose File, all i have to choose from is the iPhoto Library file. I can't seem to find where on my iMac all of the photos would be listed individually so I can choose them.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about/

Thanks,

Lynn

Yes.

Here is the deal.

Most of your photos in iPhoto will tend to be a high resolution, so in many cases, this forum software will decline the file. In addition, the iPhoto Library could contain thousands of photos scattered thru many folders. Not an easy way to choose one or two pictures.

The easiest and best way is to create a new folder on your desktop, (right click on the desktop) and name it something you can remember, such as ForumPics, or anything you like.

In iPhoto, highlight a photo (or multiple photos using the command key) click File, then Export, and choose medium size, medium quality, and then Export.

It should open a Finder window and then just choose the location, (ForumPics in this case, or wherever you want). Hit OK.

Do this with any photos you want to upload to websites.

Now, when you go back to the website with Safari, and choose files to upload, just point the Browse command to the folder you copied the photos to.

Choose the file and it should work fine.

IF...the files are still too big, or maybe too small, you can change your selections in the previous step when you chose the size during export.

Of course later on, you can delete photos from the ForumPics folder, or keep them as a record of your uploads if you wish. Deleting them from this folder will not affect the iPhoto Library. It takes longer to read this than to actually DO it...it might take you 30 seconds after you have done it a couple of times.

There are batch uploaders to handle this automatically, if for instance you were uploading 500 photos to a website. But for a few photos per day, this method should work fine.

Hope this helps.

Worked great!

I like that floor and the stainless steel tool cabinet....

Enjoy your Mac.

Thanks! I have added some stuff to the room since these pictures were taken, like lighting above the work bench, and a flat panel HDTV. Once a year we host a casino party for approx. 50 of our friends and family. Half of this room has a craps table in it and the other half we use for the dance floor during that event. Lol.
