rutman Posted January 14, 2014 #1 Posted January 14, 2014 I have the red craftsman jack that worked great with my VTX. I even built a wooden stand to sit the bike on. On my rstd the motor and I don't know what else sits lower than the frame. Any tips/tricks on using this jack. just looking I'm not sure what how this will work.
bongobobny Posted January 14, 2014 #2 Posted January 14, 2014 Member Carbon_One makes a really nifty lift adapter for the RSV but I'm not sure if it also fits the RSTD. I used pieces of 2 x 4 in the appropriate places to lift, just jack the jack up and see where they are needed...

Hockey pucks or 4 short pieces of 2x4. Or the adapter made by Carbon one. I have used the 2x4 solution but went to the adapter because it has legs that you can rest the bike and remove the jack entirely. If you use the 2x4s or the hocky pucks run a tie down over the seat to the rings on the jack put there for that purpose.
dave_wells Posted January 15, 2014 #5 Posted January 15, 2014 I used blocks pain in the a$$ I bought the adapter from Larry (Carbon _One ) on the site He has 2 options I got the one with the legs on it I like it I just wish it had a little more height to then you can pull the rear tire off
