Will be visiting friends in Florida early February, staying in a huntcamp in The Big Cypress for 3-4 days (hopefully get in some hog hunting with the bow ), and then heading off with the warden for the remaining 3-4 days in a rented car. Not sure if we should head toward Naples or to Ft. Lauderdale area.

Can anyone from the area suggest some sites to see, things to do in either of those areas?

Thanks

Penz-on If you like lots of traffic, crowds Ft Lauderdale. Smaller towns on the Gulf coast, Naples, Ft Myers Venice are nice. Edisons Winter home is in Venice, pretty neat hot rod musem in Naples I think it is. The guy has Chevy's from like the 40's thru 2000's or something. Venice has a little more going on than Naples I would guess. Sanabel Island is a nice place to stay so I hear. Brake Pad likes it. Sarasota has John Ringling home and museum. He was the big circus guy.

Fort Myers has Edison's home and a very neat evening dinner theater on a train where they do a mystery play.

Punta Gorda has a Corvette and muscle car museum.

My Daughter works at The Pink Shell Resort in Ft Meyers, it's on Estero Island also known as Ft Meyers Beach. Google it !!, Very nice place and it's right on the north end of the island so it's a little more private...http://pinkshell.com/
