baylensman Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 see plenty of articles and posts about column mounted switch. on the 96 Royal star (not venture not tour deluxe) the switch is on the right side cover under the seat above the body colored battery cover opposite of the seat lock. Any leads on a how to on this little baby. I've pulled every cover i can find and the battery and box, the switch seems to be tucked up behind the frame tubing. Second question is where can i get a new one?
BradT Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I do not have the same model but not sure I understand the question. I think the ignition switch is a factory part only. Brad
GeorgeS Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Ignition Switch is on steering colume . ?? Sounds like you are talking about some kind of " Modification " ??? Did you buy this bike " Used " ???
baylensman Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 the ignition swith is on the top of the gas tank at the tripple tree on the venture on the plain old royal star it is under the seat.

M61A1MECH Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) The 96 and the 97 both had ignition switch mounted under the seat. What makes you think it is not the correct switch? Here are the part numbers I just pulled from on line dealers. 1996 4NK-82510-01-00 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC (XVZ13AH) 1996 4NK-82510-01-00 ROYAL STAR TOUR CLASSIC (XVZ13ATH) 1997 4NK-82510-01-00 XVZ13ATJ/XVZ13ATJC/XVZ13AJ/XVZ13AJC They are all the same part number, what am I missing? And they match the part number in the one listed in the classifieds. Edited January 13, 2014 by M61A1MECH added part numbers
