rutman Posted January 5, 2014 Author #8 Posted January 5, 2014 Dont worry, we will spend YOUR money wisely on future upgrades. yea that's what I'm afraid of. This thing is a really smooth ride. Small touch but I like the self canceling turn signals, I know the cruise will be nice out on the slab. Looks like oil changes will be easy to get to. I do have some comments/questions. 1. Don't like the popping/gurgling in the pipes. Plugging the AIS is on the list. 2. I don't like loud pipes anymore but these stockers are to quiet. may add some rk mufflers. anyone have a comparison between the two. I would like a little more sound than stock but not to much. 3. Any opinions on driving lights/lightbars. 4. Hope to add some saddlebag guards. 5. I need a service manual. anywhere to buy or download one. 6. 70 mph whine sucks. 7. Anyone in upstate sc or western nc that could do carb sync for me. Till I can get tool and do it myself. that's about it for now till I think of something else to bug yall with.
cowpuc Posted January 5, 2014 #9 Posted January 5, 2014 Soon as the weather breaks you could have one of them southern boys drop a sync on her, ride up here to Michigan, you and I will double check their work and finish breakin her in on some great Northern Michigan shore line twisties!! What em I sayin you will probably have it all worn out by the time all this white stuff is gone Congrats Rutman, NICE BIKE!!!
crazygaucho Posted January 5, 2014 #10 Posted January 5, 2014 Congratulations!!!! got mine a little over a month ago and I already put a thousand miles on her paid about the same ($5900) it had some carburetors issues from sitting a long time but, they got it right afterwards and she is getting better everyday they are good bikes and the group is better
bongobobny Posted January 5, 2014 #11 Posted January 5, 2014 Yup! Ya done good! I have to disagree with George though, 100,000 miles is just broken in...

Black is the best color! Now you need more safety chrome!! Jim

RandyR Posted January 6, 2014 #14 Posted January 6, 2014 I had loud pipes for a while and went back to stock. It keeps the little old ladies in the neighborhood happy when I roll back in late at night. Its easier on my nerves too. I have a carbtune in Dahlonega, GA if thats any help oh yes, ya did good on the price. Play around with motorcycle oils. Some oils seem to help with the whine issue more than others. Rotella white jug works fine. But my '08 RSTD has a whine right around 70mph also. No problem at 80 though:fingers-crossed-emo
vzuden Posted January 7, 2014 #15 Posted January 7, 2014 I wouldn't mess with the AIS for the popping. Carb sync and sea foam first
Phoneman1981 Posted January 7, 2014 #16 Posted January 7, 2014 Congrats. I feel you did just fine. You will like the cruise.
