Trader Posted January 3, 2014 #1 Posted January 3, 2014 Really disappointed. Lots of leather, helmes and tires...and of course bikes. Very few accessories. All I bought besides an overpriced snack were some rain mitts First time there in over 25 years....not worth the drive or the wait
bongobobny Posted January 3, 2014 #2 Posted January 3, 2014 That's pretty much why Becky and I are skipping it...
SilvrT Posted January 3, 2014 #3 Posted January 3, 2014 Ours is coming up soon ... was there last year and the only reason I went was to man the booth for a local club I belong to. Prolly won't be going this year.
paysaw Posted January 4, 2014 #4 Posted January 4, 2014 I went today. The same usual suspects.I bought gloves and a quick release clip.Thank goodness it is 10 mins from my place.

chabicheka Posted January 4, 2014 #6 Posted January 4, 2014 Not bothering to go to the overpriced show this time around... 20 bucks to go and walk around like a zombie and ending up buying things just because you think you should, cause everyone else is walking around with some bags in their hands....
Evan Posted January 4, 2014 #7 Posted January 4, 2014 Sorry I missed you at the show today Steve and Ray. Anyway, unlike you guys, I enjoyed myself and bought quite a few bike goodies. Really excited to try out a new plug and play LED headlight that burns only 10W on low and 15 W on high but produces 1650 L of brightness. Also bought another smart charger, a really nice tank bag for my b-i-law, some really nice Venture trunk and saddlebag accessories and a bunch of other stuff (yes, including gloves) at some really great prices. Agree with you though that there was a lot of other stuff that was more of the same.

Evan Posted January 4, 2014 #10 Posted January 4, 2014 Any more detailed specs of that LED headlight....??? A picture would be nice also:confused24: Thanks. Bert, this link should show you a picture and give you the specs of the bulb I bought. Not sure the specs are identical as I paid a lot less than the listed price, but the picture is identical and I know it is a new product designed to fit right in without any mods. The one I bought has hi / lo that works from the existing switch on the bike. If it doesn't work as a simple plug in, I will post to let you know. The supplier is from Quebec. His price at the bike show was $70 all in. http://www.hdbright.com/hi-power-h4-15w-cob-led-headlight-bulb-kit-p-573.html

Also if you can remember the name of the supplier that would be great. Been looking for an LED solution for a while now.
BradT Posted January 5, 2014 #12 Posted January 5, 2014 I have purchased three plug and play kits from these guys. Two for myself and one for a friend all worked very well. Very helpful and price is very reasonable. Brad http://canadiancruisercustomizing.ca/

Paysaw is doing conversion to HID and i have info for him as to the process for bypassing the lighting relay. this has to be done as the low wattage senses the low beam is burnt out and will only give you high beam power. we will talk. cheers, Scott

bongobobny Posted January 5, 2014 #16 Posted January 5, 2014 Yes! The 1st gens have a Reserve Lighting Unit that detects if the low beam is drawing current, and if it isn't it switches on the high beam. 2nd gens are a product of cheaper better faster (choose 2) technology...

Very helpful and price is very reasonable. Brad http://canadiancruisercustomizing.ca/ Ok, I just ordered the following LED headlight bulb from the above site. Ordered a double kit in case I need replacement in the future. Here is what I ordered : http://canadiancruisercustomizing.ca/products/afterburner-led-headlight-direct-replacment-lamps Hopefully these fit well in 2nd gen.
Evan Posted January 7, 2014 #18 Posted January 7, 2014 In fact, if it works as good as I am hoping, I am thinking of checking out a bulk buy from the guy that I talked to at the Toronto show. He was a super guy and l expect he will give us a good deal.
