Received the check for the 99 today. New owner from Texas will pick her up sometime next month. Its gonna be hard to see her go after 11 years.......

Just remember all the good times you had with her. I'm sure you'll have lots of good times to come. Now just because you don't have the venture doesn't mean you can try and sneak out of here. I know where you live, and I can tell others. :whistling:

Oh and have you broken the news to Eck yet? :) Guess he still has dibbs on Jean.

I have bought 4 used Star bikes since 2004. Previous owners did this:

2001 Road Star - legs went bad due to diabetes, he got a 68 Black & Chrome Camaro $$$. My Son-in-law has the bike now.

2006 MRSTD - Nasty divorce, sold everything in a week - later got a Harley, maybe new wife? I'm still riding the RSTD, daily commute.

20o6 Strat - Got a RSV, then got cancer, sold RSV, got a Harley, don't know how he is doing. My neighbor has his Strat.

2009 RSV - Got a First Gen when his time came back around, knew he would. I'm still riding the RSV as my two up and distance ride.

So, the new owner will be enjoying and maybe even sharing his enthusiasm with you. You will be happy to hear about it now and then, maybe.

Me,,, when I come off bikes,,, probably look for a BMW Z4, might settle for a Miata. Not soon though.

SO, got a plan?

Guess you can take me off your "WILL" since it is going to a different owner, but keep me in mind brother for any other dream projects you get into... :whistling::stickpoke::rasberry::buttkick:

When I have to get off the bikes I think I'm going for one of the Factory Five AC Cobra replicars. Always loved the little cobra.

don had the "B2" trike up for sale last fall, but in the end it didn't sell. So it's still here with us. He is re-thinking his decision and maybe (just maybe!) he will keep it.

His plan was to get a little 2 seater convertible (had his eye on a BMW Z4), but maybe we will have another season to ride...maybe more. Who knows?

for now we are still the proud owners of a beautiful trike!

Nope, no plans for another bike right now. I will use the money to pay off my mortgage though and start to set myself up for retirement. Maybe, sometime in the future, if an interesting prospect comes along I may make a move but I will have to see how well my overall well being is at that point.

Eck, the new owner is 68...maybe you still have a shot if your nice to him.......:backinmyday:

OK, so I did stop at the local HD dealer to sit on some bikes. Fat Boy looked interesting but it was too low. A 2014 Road King fit just right but at 21k ill pass. Ultra felt top heavy, just like my RSV. Same with the street glide. Road King fit good. Now, dont get the juices flowing, it aint gonna happen. Just feeling out different bikes for their feel if I decide to get another in the future. Maybe a RSTD in the future? Ill need to ride one to feel it out but not till im a bit more "stable".

I've always planned to go lighter and tow to the riding destination, when i get older.

That opens up the entire "cruiser" bike market.

Cheaper, lighter, less expensive. jut need a low, lightweght trailer i can tow behind my Toyota... :mo money:

I was thinking that but see how nice I've become!! I stayed in my corner and didn't say a word!! I kept looking, skeered somebody was going to buy it!!!

We sure are glad you got to keep it another year Don but hope you can find a good home for it IF it has to go.

I have a friend that just bought a Triumph Thruxton....I've always liked the new Triumphs...thought about a Triumph Bonneville or Scrambler when I get the Ural paid off...

Here is a pic of Don with his new Thruxton...a very sweet looking ride:

Brian,

I'm with you on this one. The Scrambler would be my choice. Love it.
