OK gotcha now, Ft Myers area. You missed a meet and eat Fri over here in Sebring. Maybe 90 miles one way. Russ came from over that direction, venice maybe? I dont know if I gave you this link or not. The bike is up in Daytona.

This bike had under 24,000 miles on it, lots of chrome, I paid $7500 for it last spring, put 19,000 KM on it last year without a bit of trouble. GREAT bike for long distant rides! I think I got a steal of a deal. I hope this helps you decide if the price is right.

I don't have alot of new stuff to add to what has already been said. I have ridden an 86 Venture that was off the road for a few years before I got it back into riding shape and loved it, then last July came across a 2002 Midnight RSV here in Southern Ontario for a decent price. The bike had 120,000km on it when I purchased it and didn't need alot done to it, as the previous owners had all taken good care of it. I put on an additional 8,000km over the next couple of months and have not had an issue with it, as for the carbs on the 86 and 02, I gave them a regular drink of Seafoam.

 

The best part is that there are plenty of members here in Ontario within a couple to 3 hours of you in Parry Sound and countless more south of the border in the US. If you ever ran into a problem you would have untold different members with ideas or solutions to problems or questions you may have about these bikes.

 

These bikes are great bikes, but it seems the people that ride them are even better people.

I recently got my RSTD and was reluctant about getting a bike with carburetors but, they work just fine and they have been proven for over 20 years on this engine, not trying to say it is better but with bad gas EFI fails too and, that's when you wish you had carburetors

 

bottom line if you are looking for a reliable, durable, comfortable heavy touring bike for a third of the money look no further

 

if you want and/or need the latest technology this is not the bike
