Well, I am finally here in sunny Florida and I'm going to do some shopping. Does anyone know of a store that sells SWAT boots? I am not far from Haines City so somewhere close by would be nice.

Ron I can't help with the info but glad to see you made safely to Florida. Nothing but rain so far here in my area of Michigan since you left my place. Enjoy your vacation. :thumbsup2:

What are SWAT boots????

:santa:

I've had "Original S.W.A.T." boots for about 3 years and they are about the most comfortable boots I've worn. The waterproof ones are definitely waterproof !

Earlier this year I got a pair thru work that are green patch (construction) rated and they are still among the lightest and most comfortable boots I've worn.

I did a search and for those people that wear them (cops, airport security, etc) that wear them day in/day out in rough conditions... they wear better than most boots.

I looked at forums for police/corrections/military... and S.W.A.T. is often recommended

Magnum's aren't recommended.

Danners are apparently good

Hi Larry:

Yes, we arrived at 8 pm last evening. Just got out of the hot tub an pool. This is definitely my winter destination once I retire. Going shopping tomorrow for SWAT boots, a tank bag that will hold my camera and maybe a bra--tank bra that is!! First stop is Central Florida Sports. 90 F today. Man I love this weather!

My wife is a Correctional Officer at the state prison nearby and most of them go to Galls.com for their equipment and shoes. They have a pretty good selection.

Well, that was a waste of time. Went to the Vet store in Lakeland today to buy a pair of SWAT boots. No waterproof models in stock, Not going to be here long enough to order a pair so I'm still looking. Ocala is the closest place now but that's 1 1/2 hours away. Guess I'll try and find pair along the I 95 corridor on my way home next week. Plenty of dealers in and around Washington and Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Shoot we just called them combat boots. But maybe your looking for a brand name. which way and when are are you going Keys? Fri afternoon down here in Sebring (about an hour or so south of Lakeland) we are having a meet and eat for lunch. If your still in Lakeland I would think almost any of the military surplus or police tactical supply stores would have them. Also try a place up there called second gear cycle stuff. 863-858-1807 Heck I think I was in my local surplus store a few months back and seen boots like that. I wore Hi-Tech for years in the service. They were a good boot. I have a pair now I have worn for work and need replacing. I dont think they are billed as "waterproof" I dont like boots with the big tractor type treads on the bottoms so I'm picky about which ones I wear. Some of the military type boots look like they are made to climb mountians. then all kinds of crud get stuck in the treads and your walking all goofy because a stone or something got hung up in the tread. The goretex ones I have are like this. They are insulated so a bit warm to wear much down here.

If you don't find what you are looking for in Fl there is a place in Brunswick GA about 4 miles off I-95 at exit 38 called Sally's Cop Shop. They should have what you are looking for. They are a source for the staff and students at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the shop is on Chaple Crossing Road just outside the front gate of the center. Safe travels during you time in the south.
