MiCarl Posted December 20, 2013 #2 Posted December 20, 2013 what is difference between 1987 venture and venture royal:confused24: Royale had CB, Cruise control, Intercom. I think maybe the onboard compressor for the suspension was only on the Royale.
Prairiehammer Posted December 20, 2013 #3 Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) what is difference between 1987 venture and venture royal:confused24: Carl is mostly correct, but to clarify: the 1987 Standard Venture (XVZ13T, 2LW) did not come with any audio systems; the air suspension was manually adjusted, with no on board compressor or controller. The Standard did have electronic cruise control, though. The Standard also had a unique color: Orion Silver (actually looks like two-tone blue). Edited December 20, 2013 by Prairiehammer
Bounder Posted December 20, 2013 Author #4 Posted December 20, 2013 Thanks for the reply,I just bought the 87 standard sight unseen.Glad I got cruise control, don't care about other items.:usa:
adventurer 08 Posted December 20, 2013 #5 Posted December 20, 2013 It's a realy nice bike, I have the same one also great color. Good luck on the new bike.
Flyinfool Posted December 20, 2013 #6 Posted December 20, 2013 I have the '88 standard. I have been told by many that there was no 88 standard. But the manufacture date was September or October of 87 so it might just be a leftover 87 that was rebadged to an 88.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted December 20, 2013 #7 Posted December 20, 2013 Thanks for the reply,I just bought the 87 standard sight unseen.Glad I got cruise control, don't care about other items.:usa: I do not think you will have cruise.... my 86 did not. Maybe 87 they did.
Prairiehammer Posted December 20, 2013 #9 Posted December 20, 2013 I do not think you will have cruise.... my 86 did not. Maybe 87 they did. Kevin, The available features for a Canadian market Venture may have been different than the US market. For instance, there was no 1985 or 1986 Standard Venture in the US export market, but there was a 1985 and 1986 Standard sold to the Canucks. Similarly, the European market features differed from the German export market and both of those differed in available features compared to the US audience. To me, at least, it's all a very interesting detective endeavor, sorting out the vagaries of the First Gen Venture. Perhaps you could forward me the VIN from your '86, so that I may add to my database and further my knowledge. Thank you.
