Leland Posted December 18, 2013 #1 Posted December 18, 2013 This trailer http://www.meyerstrailer.com/ has brakes. Never heard of it before, but it looks like a good idea and price wise at about $3,500.00 not completely out of line. The brake system only adds $455.00 over one with no brakes. I wonder if the brakes grab if in stop and go traffic? I suppose if they did grab, you could install an orifice valve like Rick Butler uses on his 2nd gen. rear brake mod. I guess they're hydraulic. I have never pulled a motorcycle trailer, but every thing that I have read talks about the need to increase braking distance.
CaptainJoe Posted December 18, 2013 #2 Posted December 18, 2013 Pretty cool. looks like someone hacked their store page though... I like the brakes and larger wheels idea...
Leland Posted December 18, 2013 Author #3 Posted December 18, 2013 On the store page, hit the "spreadsheet" button and it opens an excel spreadsheet.
Mike G in SC Posted December 18, 2013 #4 Posted December 18, 2013 I don't see a cargo size in the specs. Sharp trailer,,, good ideas. But looks small. Here goes,,, if a wife is going with,,, better get a bigger trailer. Just saying. It's not her fault. You will find that you too now want to take sling chairs and a cooler to accommodate both of you. Flyinfool Posted December 18, 2013 #5 Posted December 18, 2013 It looks like hydraulic surge brakes. I have been considering adding electric brakes to my trailer.
