Midrsv Posted December 14, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 14, 2013 I haven't been too active on the board this year. We've been dealing with some health issues that are behind us now. Anyway, Valerie and I bought a travel trailer earlier in the year with intention of leaving it in Florida for use when we go down in the fall and maybe winter. So in late October I drug the thing down I75 at 9 mpg. Our plans were to store it permanently in Ocala and use it around the state as needed. Our first trip was to Jensen Beach on the east coast south of Ft Pierce and we planned to go to Ft Myers for January. But plans changed. We enjoyed the Jensen Beach location so much we bought a lot in the park while there. Now I've got to figure how to tow the bike and trailer from Ocala to Jensen Beach so I can have it while there. Here are a few pictures from our trip in November. http://www.traynorphoto.com/florida2013 I'll try to be more active in the future. M61A1MECH Posted December 14, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 14, 2013 Dennis I am not to far from Ocala, I know if you are like me you probaby don not let others ride your bike, but if it is an option for someone to follow you down on your bike I am sure the wife and I can help out. We could just drive up and met you there , then caravan down to Jensen Beach. Or if you want ride your bike down to my place with your wife following you, leave there in my garage, get your trailer moved and set up , then come back after the bike. Or if there is any thing else you need, let me know.

Midrsv Posted December 15, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) Thanks Steve and Tom for the offers. We may work something out in the future. When I initially chose a storage location I wanted a place inland and somewhat protected from storms and close to I75. At that time I wanted the option to go any direction in the state assuming that we would be in different locations. Now that we've bought the lot I may try to find a place inland that is a little closer to Jensen Beach. Ocala is about 4 hours from Jensen Beach and for me that is too far to make return trips considering I would have to do it twice. I've got a good bike trailer so towing it down is not a problem. I had hoped that I could get my wife to pull the travel trailer from the storage location on down while I followed on the bike. She's not comfortable with that. And after towing it up the FL turnpike with strong winds I understand her fear. It is a handful. I hope to find a storage location within a couple of hours from Jensen Beach. Then I could just park the bike and trailer while I take the TT to the lot and return to pickup the bike. While visiting there in November I ran across a member riding a midnight Venture that lived in Port St. Lucie. His name was Capt'D. There is also a Tour Deluxe rider in our park, Holiday Out, his name is Glenn. He told me there is a group in the area that rides every Saturday and maybe one afternoon each week. I doubt that I can get the bike down on the next trip but I hope to in the future. Dennis Edited December 15, 2013 by Midrsv
djh3 Posted December 15, 2013 Share #8 Posted December 15, 2013 Dennis I'm in Sebring/Avon Park. Almost dead center of state. If you need something or have an idea drop a PM. My trailer is gone but still have the 3/4 ton adn if it fits on a trailer I'm relativly sure it will hook and go. Jenson area is nice. Far enough north you dont have all the refugee things Miami are has, traffic, nutty drivers etc. We have taken a couple days over there and really liked it. Midrsv Posted December 26, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted December 26, 2013 I think I have a plan where I'll be able to bring the bike with me in January. I'm going to pick my camper up in Ocala and leave the bike and trailer in the storage spot overnight. The next day I'm taking the camper south to Ruskin and then I'll go back to Ocala and pick the bike and trailer up and move them to my cousins garage near Bradenton. That's a lot of driving that day. I think I'm going to move my storage location from Ocala to near Lake Placid. So a few days later after I get the camper settled at the beach I'll go move the bike and trailer from Bradenton to Lake Placid where I'll leave the trailer and the ride the bike on to the beach. Whew! I'm tired already. So I may be able to hook up with some of you for a ride sometime in January. Dennis

Thanks, but I just arranged storage at a location in Lake Placid. This next trip down is going to be a pain until I get everything repositioned but the return and subsequent trips should be easier. I spent today changing oil and replacing my rear tire. Also had to check out the bike trailer to make sure it was road ready. Dennis
