scotta68 Posted December 14, 2013 #1 Posted December 14, 2013 Has anyone tried to fit a pair of 4x6 speakers in the front of a 2nd gen ? Just curious as this may be something to tackle for a spring project http://www.ebay.com/itm/230995168712
Eck Posted December 14, 2013 #2 Posted December 14, 2013 That would require a lot of ingenuity and removal of plastic supporting material from the dash and metal from the metal speaker housing. Ah heck, just do it. Why not be the first to try it? Just take a video to share the before and after results. I would first locate a replacement dash for that just in case it don't work result you are worried about.
KeithR Posted December 14, 2013 #3 Posted December 14, 2013 Keep in mind that you will be powering them with the same unit so you may not get much out of it for your efforts. Unless you have other plans as well? Keith

An extension for the riders or passengers connector will let you use external speakers in the campground. I would suggest a boom box in the back seat but I am married to mine and she is often monotone. Mike

bikerjohn Posted December 15, 2013 #6 Posted December 15, 2013 i installed polk audio db401 purchased fom amazon works great and great sound
scotta68 Posted December 16, 2013 Author #7 Posted December 16, 2013 I already put the Polks in up front, just thinking of trying to get a little better sound from the stereo. Already did the ear buds when I had my V-star, but wife and I love the open music.... just adds to the relaxation of a long ride. Well, looks like I may have a project now.
