That would require a lot of ingenuity and removal of plastic supporting material from the dash and metal from the metal speaker housing.

Ah heck, just do it. Why not be the first to try it? Just take a video to share the before and after results.

I would first locate a replacement dash for that just in case it don't work result you are worried about.:whistling:

Keep in mind that you will be powering them with the same unit so you may not get much out of it for your efforts. Unless you have other plans as well?

Has anyone tried to fit a pair of 4x6 speakers in the front of a 2nd gen ? Just curious as this may be something to tackle for a spring project

A quality set of speakers in your headset is great on the road. An extension for the riders or passengers connector will let you use external speakers in the campground. I would suggest a boom box in the back seat but I am married to mine and she is often monotone.

I already put the Polks in up front, just thinking of trying to get a little better sound from the stereo. Already did the ear buds when I had my V-star, but wife and I love the open music.... just adds to the relaxation of a long ride. Well, looks like I may have a project now.
