The Beast Posted December 9, 2013 #1 Posted December 9, 2013 Any one notice that Yamaha has not got a 2014 royal stare venture listed on their web site?
cowpuc Posted December 9, 2013 #2 Posted December 9, 2013 Well,, just to make sure your an honest Beast I did a google search and found out your not exactly shooting square with us here.. Think I'll be stickin to the old 1st Genner a lil longer.. 2014 RS Venture http://cdn-9.psndealer.com/e2/dealersite/images/newvehicles/2014/nv352622_0_400.jpg
etcswjoe Posted December 9, 2013 #3 Posted December 9, 2013 They annouced earlier that the Venture motorcycle line had ended.
etcswjoe Posted December 9, 2013 #5 Posted December 9, 2013 Did they run out of cassette players I figured either that or they finally ran out of all the unpainted bikes they made back in 99.
Brake Pad Posted December 9, 2013 #6 Posted December 9, 2013 I bought the wing, because it was listed as a second Generation.
djh3 Posted December 9, 2013 #7 Posted December 9, 2013 Best guess from some of the dealers I have talked to is they are going to take a break for a year or two like previous. then reintroduce a "touring bike" May not be called a Venture anymore who knows. Biggest bets is hedged on it following the Roadstar 1700 platform I think is the bike. Whatever one looks like a street glide. As stated thats all rumors and propaganda.
The Beast Posted December 9, 2013 Author #8 Posted December 9, 2013 Thanks Gentlemen, I knew I could count on you.
ACE50 Posted December 9, 2013 #10 Posted December 9, 2013 Too bad. That means that great V4 engine will disappear in the sunset! The one in the Vmax is already gone. It's completely different now. Put that new VMAX engine in a new touring model! 200HP and 25 MPG!!!!
Condor Posted December 9, 2013 #11 Posted December 9, 2013 I still think a cruiser with a V6Fi based on the new V-Max engine would knock the competition's socks off..... If BMW can shoehorn an in-line 6 into their LT's, can you imagine what a narrower V6 would be like.... Y did make a triple, so 3 wide is nothing new to them and would sit better than those pancake 1800cc motors that you have to work around the heads hanging out in the wind....
GeorgeS Posted December 9, 2013 #12 Posted December 9, 2013 Well, a Venture with a V-Max Engine !!! I would pop for that !!! Almost as good as a Venture with a Busa!! Engine !!!
Ventureless Posted December 9, 2013 #13 Posted December 9, 2013 I just want to keep my 99 and have the motor rebuilt or a new one installed (not that there is anything wrong with my existing motor), all new bearings installed all around, and some genius to design, build, and install FI. I will then put another 100K miles on it and do it again.
Jimbob66 Posted December 9, 2013 #14 Posted December 9, 2013 Did they run out of cassette players Now that's funny right there ...
Yammer Dan Posted December 9, 2013 #15 Posted December 9, 2013 He called us Gentlemen!!!!!!!:rotf: WHAT??What does that mean?? Have we been insulted??
djh3 Posted December 10, 2013 #16 Posted December 10, 2013 I think I have read an article or post of someone using the FI off a vmax on thier RSV. Dont recall where though. I dont see why a fellow couldnt.
dingy Posted December 10, 2013 #17 Posted December 10, 2013 I think I have read an article or post of someone using the FI off a vmax on thier RSV. Dont recall where though. I dont see why a fellow couldnt. I am working somewhat with a 1200 VMax owner that lives very close to me. He got a Fuel Injected Ignitech module through me. He is in process of adapting it to the VMax this winter. Gary
Ventureless Posted December 10, 2013 #18 Posted December 10, 2013 I think I have read an article or post of someone using the FI off a vmax on thier RSV. Dont recall where though. I dont see why a fellow couldnt. I am sure someone could, but I am not that man. I just want to buy it and have it installed when they do.
djh3 Posted December 10, 2013 #19 Posted December 10, 2013 I dont mind working and engineering some stuff. But me and FI is probably not a great mix. I have limited knowlege and could probably make great smoke and fire. Something with nuts and bolts and instructions (ok instructions are optional) work pretty well.
KIC Posted December 10, 2013 #20 Posted December 10, 2013 There was a hefty rumor going around that it is just another verifiable act on how slow a 2nd Gen really is... it's even slow getting to the show room floor... That nasty rumor was just started by either me or Yammer Dan...can't remember which... oh yea Dan flipped to the dark side so...;it must have been me.....
djh3 Posted December 10, 2013 #21 Posted December 10, 2013 Technicly if it comes out after the 2014 models its a 3rd Gen I think.
Condor Posted December 10, 2013 #22 Posted December 10, 2013 Just for the heck of it I did the cc math on a V6-Max motor based on the V-Max 1700/V4 and it works out to a whopping 2550cc's..... Talk about bottom end grunt!! ...?? Wonder what that would do to the fuel mileage??
spear Posted December 10, 2013 #24 Posted December 10, 2013 Boy. Talk about drifting away from the original thread! To return to where it all started - if 2013 is the last of the RSVs, that means my 2004 is appreciating in value every day. Gotta be happy with that. Have to be good collateral for something!
Condor Posted December 10, 2013 #25 Posted December 10, 2013 Oh geez, here we go again. COOL!!!!!!!!!! Where we going??? Boy. Talk about drifting away from the original thread! To return to where it all started - if 2013 is the last of the RSVs, that means my 2004 is appreciating in value every day. Gotta be happy with that. Have to be good collateral for something! Sorry we bug ya, but drifting is a common event on this board..... If we didn't drift the posts would drift off into the sunset. Besides drifting is good for the soul.....
