Well...hmmm...I didnt intend to knock the shine off the rose...

I know a lot of riders who thoroughly enjoy their Harley...as long as you have some information going in, you can be prepared. By that I mean, if you need money to keep it on the road, you will have it available.

Of course, a new bike with a warranty is a different animal. Other than the monthly payments, and of course insurance, all you will need is money for gas, tires, and oil. (meaning maintenance).

Either way, I hope you enjoy whatever it is that you ride.

Brian,

It is not knocking shine off the rose. I ASKED you all for advice and tips. I have never been hypnotized by the HD marketing team and since I am not made of money, like the geico man, I did want honest answers. I already knew they had issues, and just wanted to make the best decision based on real information. Which you and the others supplied. My choice is to put my money elsewhere instead of in HD conglomerate pockets. And to that I thank you...:301:

Geez just think of all the money you will save on t-shirts of the years. :rotf: I too look at other bikes, but like was mentioned when it comes to the dollars and cents of it I just keep the RSV. So far for me its been a good bang for the buck.

My Last Hardley was that 56 Pan. Rigid Frame, raked 47 degrees extended 16 inches. Twisted tube Grundy front. Drilled frame and ran all wiring thru frame. No exposed wiring. Candy Apple Red with Gold Metal Flake. No front brake. 16 inch Ape Hangers. Chrome spokes. Polished side cases. King Queen that fit frame very well. Would make the Old man's on Orange County look 2nd class. But ride that thing!!!Never again!! Notice I said LAST Hardley!!:whistling:

Don't need no stinking Hardley.... I got a 2nd gen!!:whistling: Looks like a good old man's ride Barry. When I get too old to handle "Brown Sugar" I'll have that 2nd Gen....

Dan, you keep hating on the 2nd gen, and when it's time to get on her, she may be not interested in your yammer butt being on her and refuse service...

Do you read by candlelight too, because that came first before electricity... :rotf:

Do you watch a zenith black and white bc that came before flat screens?

Instead if gettin on with the excuses Dan, get on and love your 2G....
