Yammer Dan Posted December 6, 2013 #1 Posted December 6, 2013 I can yank a set of 1st Gen plugs before you can drink a cup of coffee. Any tricks on the 2nd Gen? :think:I thought there was a thread on it but can't find. Might have been before crash. I guess I'm going to have to be trained all over again. Anybody remember all those questions I had the 1st few years??
Ventureless Posted December 6, 2013 #2 Posted December 6, 2013 Take the tank off. Take the engine braces (I think that is what they are) off. Then plugs out. The front plugsvare as easy to get to as the rears once the braces come off.
slowrollwv Posted December 6, 2013 #3 Posted December 6, 2013 Dan why change the plugs??? You won't ride it so the ones in there should last for years.:rotf::rotf: When you change them use the iridium plugs there good for 100,000 miles but you should know that already.
Yammer Dan Posted December 6, 2013 Author #4 Posted December 6, 2013 Quit firing on left side sitting in garage!! It gets started regular?? I'm gonna ride it. One of these days. But you walk into a garage with Brown Sugar and the nameless one sitting there.......
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted December 7, 2013 #5 Posted December 7, 2013 yes have the coffee and a healthy breakfast first, it took me an hour to figure out the first one, 10 minutes to change the other 3 then 1/2 hour to put everything back together. Make sure you get the electrical plugs tight together under the tank cover. That was my only issue after.
djh3 Posted December 7, 2013 #7 Posted December 7, 2013 Do irridiums come OEM? If not whats a good number/brand to go back in. I kind of figure if its got NGK in it now thats what should go back in. Right now I only have 27K on it. But will do a valve check here in the next few weeks so when I got it that far I figure good time to r&R plugs.
Yammer Dan Posted December 7, 2013 Author #8 Posted December 7, 2013 Traitor.... And Brown Sugar Purring like a kitten. And maybe laughing a little....
CaptainJoe Posted December 7, 2013 #9 Posted December 7, 2013 Ya better get a source of heat in that garage if your gonna work on the bikes. It's pretty chilly out there this morning...

Freebird Posted December 7, 2013 #11 Posted December 7, 2013 Dan, You don't need plugs. Those are Iridium plugs with less than 3,000 miles on them. Quit tinkering and ride the thing.
Yammer Dan Posted December 7, 2013 Author #12 Posted December 7, 2013 I have no excuses. It needs rode!! Things haven't been great here but I NEED TO RIDE!! Brown Sugar has been looking at me a little strange. No Excuses.
djh3 Posted December 7, 2013 #13 Posted December 7, 2013 Dan I can store it here for you. Make the ocasional ride so everything stays loosened up and firing like it should.
Guest Posted December 7, 2013 #14 Posted December 7, 2013 Dan, that closet door is still closed on your leg??? Force it open, come out of that closet finally and get on the 2nd gen and put a tarp over Brown Sugar so she wont cry......
