Evan Posted December 6, 2013 #1 Posted December 6, 2013 Got a call from my wife who had car problems on the road today about 100 miles from home. It happened to be usually warm today, up into the 50's, but will be back below freezing tomorrow. Jumped on my bike and had a great ride to help my stranded wife, which also worked out. Anyone else have a "silver lining" experience today?
Brown Angel Posted December 6, 2013 #2 Posted December 6, 2013 This is not bike related but it makes for a good ride! I started working out and and am now up to jumping rope and getting that smaller waist. Simply helps with legs and back when I'm riding with my wife.
ragtop69gs Posted December 6, 2013 #4 Posted December 6, 2013 I blew the leaves out of my gutters this morning and didn't fall off the roof !
Huggy Posted December 6, 2013 #5 Posted December 6, 2013 I blew the leaves out of my gutters this morning and didn't fall off the roof ! I got out of putting up the Christmas tree! But the wife is still after me to do it!!!!!!

Yammer Dan Posted December 6, 2013 #7 Posted December 6, 2013 This is not bike related but it makes for a good ride! starrider60 Posted December 6, 2013 #10 Posted December 6, 2013 GAINING STRENGTH EVERYDAY. THREE MONTHS SINCE MY WRECK. THE FIRST TWO MONTHS WERE SLOW GOING. BUT I CAN FEEL THE PROGRESS. HOPE TO BE RIDING NEXT MONTH
etcswjoe Posted December 6, 2013 #11 Posted December 6, 2013 Did not happen today but a couple of weeks ago I got to work and realized I hade left my ID cards at home and could not get on base. I have to admitt I was a little ticked at myself but the silver lining was that I got to ride an hour more and I also came up on a young girl trying to push her broke down car out of the road during rush hour traffic so I pulled the bike off the road stopped traffic and helped her push her car to the side of the road.
Squidley Posted December 6, 2013 #12 Posted December 6, 2013 Just picked up a new to me truck on Tuesday and now it's 38 and raining here in Houston Texas. Just got that one in time so I didn't have to ride the bike in the cold rain
Eck Posted December 6, 2013 #14 Posted December 6, 2013 I woke up still alive... And as the day unfolds (so far), I am facing life in a vertical position..!!!!!!!!!!
Bubber Posted December 6, 2013 #15 Posted December 6, 2013 Sitting up and taking nourishment and am still on the top side of the grass. HOOOOHA All else is gravy. Bubber
ReinyRooster Posted December 6, 2013 #16 Posted December 6, 2013 Yup.....still on the green side of the sod.
Dragonslayer Posted December 6, 2013 #17 Posted December 6, 2013 It's been raining all week but the temperature has been up in the 70's. They are talking about a record high today of 75. Silver lining for the time being but, ya'lls (Westerners) cold front is predicted to hit us over night and the weekend is projected to be cold and rainy. I can feel the Rhuematism starting to kick up as I'm typing this..... Oh yea and I am still walking around.
Yammer Dan Posted December 6, 2013 #18 Posted December 6, 2013 Dan .......You haven't worked in 2 months.....Not the same thing:backinmyday: You made me think. I last worked in May 2009....WOW!! Can't believe its been that long!!Seems like last week. My trips to the gym got interrupted by politics. The politicians around here decided they wanted the gym. Now it don't get used at all.
Howard B Posted December 6, 2013 #19 Posted December 6, 2013 what possible use could a politician have for a gym? Storage for all their pork barrel goodies?
Brake Pad Posted December 6, 2013 #20 Posted December 6, 2013 what possible use could a politician have for a gym? Storage for all their pork barrel goodies? I like the way you think:rotf:
Yammer Dan Posted December 6, 2013 #21 Posted December 6, 2013 To prove they run everything. Its Open now. My dues went from 7 bucks a month to 35. Its not the money just the idea where its going.
spear Posted December 7, 2013 #22 Posted December 7, 2013 Watching Mitchell Johnson decimate the Poms. 7/40. Work out that one!
Squidley Posted December 7, 2013 #23 Posted December 7, 2013 Squid how's the scary jeep coming?? Just been sitting Bob, not long after we got it back here to Texas it dropped #6 intake valve. Needless to say I have the motor out and will be taking the head in to have it reworked. The way money has been flying out of this household with both the kids and everything else, it's been VERY tight around here. I'll get it going again, too much invested in it now to just junk it. Just taking a lot of time
Barrycuda Posted December 8, 2013 #24 Posted December 8, 2013 For me, it's not glamorous. Just returned form the M&E in Florida, and after 402 miles, I am home safe as well as the rest of the gang...
djh3 Posted December 8, 2013 #25 Posted December 8, 2013 Yup home after good food, good ride and most of all good friends. You know Dan I recall something about the government confiscating the Mustang Ranch, a bordello in Nevada that made millions a year. Problem was they didnt exactly pay tax on everything. So the government siezed it. With in a couple of years it was bankrupt and growing weeds. So how does that happen?
