High on my list for Christmas this year is a good pair of waterproof Gore Tex riding boots. I saw a nice pair of Alpinestars but I really hesitate to buy things from an online store that need to fit.

Quite often accessories are much cheaper in the USA and I will be in Florida over Christmas and New Years. Do any of our members know of any good places to buy boots in Central Florida.

I'd go for the SWAT boots but I really don't want to have to deal with laces. I'm trying to make a connection with Motovan so I'll see what they carry this week.

I've been wearing SWAT boots for the last couple years. Great boots and the ones I got are definitely waterproof.

I've worn them riding to work and worn them all day at work and are comfortable and have stood up to daily wear so I got a pair of their green patch boots (construction)..."steel" toe boots (not steel but a composite)... they aren't much heavier than my bike boots.

SWAT makes several different models with laces on the front look like a regular boot but they zipper up the side.....FYI

picked up a pair of the Milwaukee Trooper motorcycle boots in May

ordered on line and they fit like a glove or boot i guess

love the zippered sides, great grip and overall comfort.

The boots are accurate for size. I got mine at the Toronto Motorcycle Show. If you wait another month you can probably see them there but call them to confirm they will be at the show.

I had some of those boots but, I couldn't keep the zipper up. After a few steps the zipper would go down.

Supposed to keep you pants zipped up when you ride ! Dangerous otherwise.

I've never had an issue with the laces or the zipper on my boots. Laces stay tied, zipper (on the boots) stays up.

Can't see paying the price for "motorcycle boots" unless you are a sportsbike track rider. I use the 11" wellington slip on boot (I don't like laces on riding boots). My winter boots are both waterproof all leather with Gore Tex and one has Thinsulate lining. One pair is made by Rocky the other by Cabela's which is where I bought both pair. Wait for a sale, they can be had for around $100.

I've had a pair of these for the last 2-3 years and they've held up well. Love the side zipper style boots. No issues with them so far either.

I also have a pair of non-insulated 6" high boots of the same features and generally where them during the warmer months. Had these for a number of years as well with similar results.

Got both from a local Army surplus store at competitive prices.

I've been wearing Swat Boots for years. I like the side zippers. Depending on the season I can adjust them for warmer socks then just use the zipper for easy on and off. You might say they are adjustable. I don't buy the waterproof ones. I do use "Camp Dry" 2-3 coats on a new pair and they are good for the life of the boot.

I must be lazy in my old age!! I started wearing pull on boots. No laces at all. I used to wear my cowboy boots all the time, but the bottoms are pretty slick and don't do well on oil and sandy gritty roads. Mine are similar to these.
