rbig1 Posted November 29, 2013 #1 Posted November 29, 2013 bought a sharper image camera during the sale. has any one had one and how well did you like it. and have you up graded or still using. never used one before but for 48.00 figured i would try it. its a 1080 hd.from menards. what kind do you use? also is it better mounted to front bike or helmet. did you have to put a bigger sd card in. etc pros and cons
ragtop69gs Posted November 29, 2013 #2 Posted November 29, 2013 Can't say much about the camera, but buy the biggest and fastest SD card you can, they fill up fairly quick. I carry 4 32GB extreme class 10 cards when we go on a trip, I fill the card then download it to the laptop when we get to the hotel. Depending on cam settings and how much you video, you can fill 1 or 2 cards a day. I have a mount on the front and back of the bike.
rbig1 Posted November 30, 2013 Author #3 Posted November 30, 2013 wow thats alot of sd cards. never knew there were different speeds. the camera on the back which way do you face it. if its backwards does it make ya sick watching.
Snaggletooth Posted November 30, 2013 #4 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Not familiar with the sharper unit but had been using the Drift HD for a while. For sure a few extra SD cards are handy. I've got a remote on the handle bars so i can select my shots a bit easier without filling the card with long clips. Using the HD setting really Burns up the space fast. I've found setting it for the 720 rate still gives me great playback and more recording time. I tried several mounting points and ended up building my own systems. Best, on the fairing bolted to the stays. But for fun and different veiws i have one on the low end of the crash bars i can quickly change from front to rear veiw. Have fun. Lots of things to try. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/30/ajusa3eh.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/30/uvu3ajer.jpg From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment. On the rear it faces back to record the other riders in the group. There are several different classes of sd cards, they range from Low>High, unmarked up to class 10, always buy cards that are for video recording, the slower cards may cause errors with the camera. I typically record at 1080 because I like to pull stills off the video like snap shots.
