Diogenes? Is this the right name for the man in the fable that went looking for a honest man with a lamp?? How do you pronounce it. I need to be right with this so I ask the experts.

 

My opening line in the courtroom next week will be

 

" I would like to extend apologies to any honest politicians here for wasting their time. But since I am in Clay County that would be like Diogenes with his lamp. Probally just a waste of time."

 

I need to be sure the name is right and can't find the old fable. Need to pronounce it correctly also. Can I call a lawyer a shyster in the courtroom and get away with it??

 

Yeah I'm going to have some fun!! May get locked up but they can kiss it!!

Long time ago I had this somewhere. I would have left the odd out but circuit court judge here probally wouldn't know difference. It is to make point of how crooked our Magistrate system is. The opposing lawyer is a shyster and that is what I will call him. I don't have a lawyer (I know) but facts in this case are so outstanding I'm just going to go with them and see what happens.

That looks about right. I hope. Freaking idiot system cost me about 5k because they are plain stupid. I'm pissed and will get even some way. Running it far enough up the ladder to get it out of my county might do it. They don't care for bikers.

Use no profanity. Keep to the facts. No name calling but use things like unethical practice, deliberate intent to decieve, not dealing in good faith, etc. You can call them cheats, liers, sheisters without getting thrown out yet have your comments entered inthe minutes. Also if you can get any media coverage at all is a great help just to have them see a news car parked out front has a real calming effect on council. Good luck

Thanks Art. Sounds like good advice but I have so much trouble keeping my cool when they get in punching distance. The media sounds like it might work. This mess of good ol boys needs taught a lesson. Turn out the lights and give me 60 seconds with all of them!!!

Got a ticket on Muskegon Lake while fishing in my 12 foot aluminum row boat. The local lake cop said I had to have all the stuff in my rowboat that boats on Lake Michigan had to have (horn, shore to shore, fire extingwisher, flares) cause our lake is connected to Lake Michigan (by channel)..

Go to court, told the Judge that for as long as I could remember we were under a 16 foot rule, that being under 16 foot (no engine) and not in Lake Michigan all that stuff wasnt required and I asked if I could please see the actual written law on it.. He said "in my court room I decide what is and isnt law". Under oath, the cops told the judge that they had heard of this law - a big discussion ensued between the cops and judge and no one could produce the actual written law.. Finally the Judge looked at me and said "it really doesnt make any difference cause in this court room I decide what is and isnt law and you are guilty as charged".. Then I got upset (don't do this unless you are ready to pay extra) and said, I totally understand that Muskegon County is broke (and it is, stupid recession) and you guys need the money but this just isnt right.. The judge looked at me and said, "your fine was $50, now its $100".. Later my wife says "was it worth it?, I said to me it was... I ended up paying the fine and therebye staying away from losing my drivers license and having an arrest warrant issued.. To me there are things worth fighting for, right is right and wrong is wrong, probably simular to you..

Please note: the modern day court system is nothing to fool with, they have some serious power on their side now, the kind of stuff that can follow you for a long long time AND, with this new reciprocity signing (there are only 2 states left in the union that havent signed on to it) and Homeland security stuff even a seat belt violation follows you!!

It's called homework... and any court date needs plenty. If you walk into court with a transcript of the law, you are starting smarter. Quote a law or ordinance number and it gives them something but they HATE to look it up when you are standing there and they can just make a decision on their own. Come prepared or be prepared for what they toss at ya.

Is this about the tyranny of the powers that be against poor downtrodden bikers? Would a strategically planned VR M & E at the courthouse be any help? Is a call for revolution in order? What can we do to help?

Justice has very little to do with it.

 

That's why an obviously guilty criminal can walk on a technicality.

"I'm throwing the book at you." and then bang his hammer.

 

Was he placed in chains and led away to the slammer?

 

Or did he prevail and not stammer.

 

When he said to the judge, "You can take this case and just cram-ER!"

To explain this mess: I have never gotten along with our Clay County Sheriff's Dept or the Magistrate system here. This started way back and continued into my outlaw days. Sheriff told me he didn't want me around. Magistrate and I had words in the late 60's. He didn't want any more than words. I have dealt with them for yrs after I returned home mostly just trying to stay out of their way. Was gone for about 20 yrs. Came back wearing colors and tried to grow up. Colors are history but I have been arrested over a dozen times on any stupid thing they can dream up. One conviction when a guy stood behind my car and cursed me for over 15 minutes. I finally got tired of listening to him and opened the car door and got out. I couldn't catch him. Never laid a finger on him. Was convicted on that one of assault. Only conviction they have on me. I didn't take shyster with me. I have avoided their system as much as possible til I wrecked my almost new Pontiac. I made the mistake of taking it to a body shop close to home. Good buddies with the magistrate. I didn't know. I had the magistrate reclused (removed from case) and they appointed magistrate from next county. Getting ahead of myself. When I got the car back from body shop it was the worse repair job I have ever seen. I could have done as good with rubber hammer and spray can. Anyhow I sued him after I had paid bill. Told him it was unacceptable day I picked it up but had death in family at that time and I had to have car. Anywho when it came to court with newly appointed magistrate I showed up a hr early. New magistrate showed went into magistrates office I don't get along with. Whooping and laughter for the next hour and then they called me into the magistrates office that it wasn't supposed to be in with the magistrate I didn't want watching what was going on. I won!! Car speaks for itself. They claim I took too much time to do this. Dumbass awarded me 250 bucks to take my car apart align everything and repaint. Claimed Orange peel could be buffed out and parts not matching up didn't matter. I never received the 250 bucks anyway. Si I appealed the mess to circuit court and will see. I expect to loose as long as it is in this county. Not sure where I will go from here but maybe to jail. I'm ready to show this S.O.B. why I had the rep I did from the years I was gone.

Sorry to waste time. Anyhow that's why I wasting my time and money in court when I know better. I keep hearing "Fair and Equal" BULL****!!
