OK this is suppose to be a "fun" thread! I'm really not looking for deep philosophical answers unless you really want to impress yourself with your answers. I am looking for somewhat of a character analysis but don't take it too seriously!!

To me reality is caring for other people as much if not more than myself. Reality is unfortunately that I can not 100% trust our government or politicians. Reality is that hard work has it's rewards. Reality is also that the best things in life have no monetary value but all the money in the world can't buy them!!

Reality is also if you want to keep an idiot in suspense for hours I'll tell you tomorrow...

Reality is I love kids, perhaps the reason why is they always have a way of bringing me back to a sense of reality.. Examples?

My oldest daughter teaches kindergarten/1st grade. After explaining to one of her students the importance of getting his work done he comments,, but teacher - I am a "playing boy" not a "working boy".

Last spring - My wife, Tippy, and I are headed out for the summer on our bike to tour the country. We have a neighbor with a 5 year old who, throughout his short life, we have been spoiling with daily "freeze pops". His dad brought him down to say goodbye on the day we were leaving.. Before we left I told him I had a surprise for him. I pulled out 2 cases of popcicles for him and he got the BIGGEST grin on his face.. I than said, you gotta freeze em, have you got a freezer?? After staring off into the distance for a second he looks me in the eyes and says,,, "everyone has a freezer dont they?..

Years ago one of my kids (around that 3 year old age) was standing on her little stool in the bathroom playing in the sink,, splashing water and just going to town.. I noticed her and said,, Tami - what are doing?? She paused for a second and looked at me and said "I dont know what I'm doing Daddy"..

I spent the day yesterday doing my annual 1st Aid requalification. I've been doing my job for 33 years. I work with over 2000 other men & women and the area we work is one of the few communities in North American that is still growing. The average experience on our front line is less than nine years, the class I'm in if you exclude me, the average would be less than that. So I spend the day in a very interactive, hands on class, working in pairs and groups. We do 1st aid on each other, take it seriously but a lot of goofing around and we have fun. I feel part of the group we are a team I get respect from them cause they know I've been there done that, I feel young and confident in what I'm doing. I ace the final written test at the end of the day. The only one that got perfect! I'm feeling good still sharp, still got it, 3 years past retirement and still going. I can more than hold my own with all these whipper-snappers.

I head home feeling on top of the world, bring it on! :cool10:

I get home walk in the house, walk past a mirror.......:backinmyday:

That's reality......... "Your only as old as you feel"!!!

I'm not as smart as I thought I am/was.

I can always out smart myself by over thinking a situation

I have always loved my parents.

I just never realized how much till I no longer had them.

We elected fools, drunks, crooks and thieves to represent us in government.

Time to elect people that represent the people & not their own self interests

I Love the Lord

Took me to long to realize what I was missing in my life and I have lost a lot time because of it.

Friends don't have to be in your back yard

Friends are those people you choose to call your friends and can be all around the county or countries.

Being smart is not the same as being street smart.

Doctors can't change a tire without help, but then again I can't do brain surgery.

We all have a place in life we just need to find it.

When you (I) find it I'll let you know

Your kids are the most important thing in the world, BAR NONE!

Teach your kids the good things and let them teach you too.

When you were disciplining your kids when they were little and lecturing them

They were listening, you can hear then tell their kids the same things.

When I was 18 I didn't think my Dad knew to much.

When I turned 21, I sure thought he learned an awful lot in 3 years

If you don't learn something new every day

your not paying attention or your dead.

You can't tell people how to spend their money

You wouldn't want anyone telling you either

With old age comes wisdom.

If your paying attention you may get old & learn stuff along the way too.

Although it seems to be that I don't have much money....

I have a strong bond with Jehovah, my creator, and have dedicated my life to serving him and helping others learn about him which provides me with much joy and a full purpose in life.

I have a wife I love more than life itself

I am surrounded by good friends...and no matter where I go I know my brothers and sisters will welcome me with open arms.

I have sufficient food and a home that is good enough.

I have my bike.

What more could any one ask for?

The Reality is ......I AM RICH!

Today my daughter and I went to a chinese buffet for lunch (daughter is 11). I got her to try some different foods which she has never had before. When we left she told me "I am glad I listened to you today. Otherwise I would have never tried these things!" It was followed by a big smile. The smile is reality.........

If your not sure who your friends are? Loan them money.

Sometimes you win a friend, sometimes you lose your money..

Sometimes it is money well spent.

Mike, we both win here because I did gain a friend and no cash was lost in the process .

The closer I get to retirement, the more I wonder what else they will take away.

When I was young, I thought, "hey I'll retire at 55".

That was young and foolish.

I keep paying Social Security and Medicare,,, they keep giving it to someone else.

Now,, will be happy to retire at 65. (May 2015)

Hope like hell they don't make me wait till,,,,, I'm dead.

This forum is real.

Most of you people on here I have never met, but I must say I feel a kinship to this place and it's members, Not only for the info, jokes, stories, life

To those people I have met from the forum they are all real people just as they represent themselves on here. That is an oddity in the cyberworld these days where people pretend to be just about anything they want to be while on the computer.

I have read posts on here that give a very blunt opinion of what ever subject that is being discussed at the time and that is OK. Sometimes we need to hear the reality of other people to either change our minds or solidify our original opinion.

So the reality is we are all different and have different opinions and we can all still get along and share those differences with each other and still be friends.

It goes much farther than what bike you ride or what accessories you like or dis-like.

It is the people of VentureRiders.

Still family after all these years kind of sums it all up.

Thanks for the reality check!
