mini-muffin Posted November 21, 2013 #9 Posted November 21, 2013 Just remember them Florida boys freak out about them cold temps at 50 degrees. Most won't ride at them temps. We on the other hand as long as it ain't snowing we ride. Of course our snow typically lasts a day sometimes a whole week (if we get alot). Margaret
wrnchjox Posted November 21, 2013 #10 Posted November 21, 2013 mid 50 range, still to warm new yorkers ride those temps in tee shirts
Huggy Posted November 22, 2013 #11 Posted November 22, 2013 Anything over 40F is T shirt weather up here!!! But it is never warm enough for the missus!! She's from topical Africa and thinks anything below 80F is freezing!!!
bj66 Posted November 22, 2013 #12 Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) Got my snowbucket for my skidsteer a few days ago. Thats the only thing I am going to be riding in the near future. Although it is enclosed with heat, I dont want to ride it all day, so I bought a 10 foot snow bucket.....bike is sitting in my heated garage facing the back wall. I dont want to turn it around so it can see outside. It might get some crazy idea like going out for a ride when its about 10 degrees out......We live near the 6th coldest city in the U.S. according to this website. As a matter of fact, I recognize the trees in the background of the #6 picture. They are the trees that border my farm. That year there were 2 poles that were going down and they had to be replaced....another cold job. http://www.thedailybeast.com/galleries/2010/12/10/america-s-25-coldest-cities.html#slide6 Edited November 22, 2013 by bj66
bongobobny Posted November 23, 2013 #13 Posted November 23, 2013 Hmmmm, 25 cities I DON'T want to live in...
djh3 Posted November 23, 2013 #14 Posted November 23, 2013 LOL I knew I would get some feedback. I will ride just about anytem, the boss not so much. I dont have any heated gear as I would never get any use out of it. I think since 2007 when I got back into motorcycles there have only been a couple days down here I though too cold to ride. A couple years ago my buddy and I were leaving Cincinati in Oct. It was 26-28 leaving the hotel. Chaps and a couple layers and I was good to go. I could have been warmer but was OK. Sometimes its just not worth the hassel though of putting the bike up, and all that goes with it. I lived in SW Oklahoma for a long stint and rode alot there also. Snow on the road-no way.
