Prairiehammer Posted November 17, 2013 #2 Posted November 17, 2013 Actually, the tornados were all around us earlier this morning. Hit, Washington, IL pretty hard as well as two or three other towns in the area. One was sighted about three miles from us. Not by me...I was in the basement.
RandyR Posted November 18, 2013 #4 Posted November 18, 2013 pictures I saw from Washington, IL were of a residential area almost completely leveled. another news report says 3 dead. God bless.

tomephil Posted November 18, 2013 #8 Posted November 18, 2013 Wow, no, I didn't hear. Stay safe everyone. Tom
Huggy Posted November 18, 2013 #9 Posted November 18, 2013 Glad to hear everyone is OK!!! We get a few of them tornadoes up here but most of the time they don't do a lot of damage do to our sparse population up here.
bongobobny Posted November 18, 2013 #10 Posted November 18, 2013 Yup! Sure was windy last night! We're fine but north of us there was a few power outages and a couple of downed trees, one of which hit someone's house...
BratmanXj Posted November 18, 2013 #11 Posted November 18, 2013 I live right on the IL/IN Boarder at the south end of the lake. Watched my garbage can take a 20 mph slide down the alley, raining sideways, flooded the driveway and yard (little bit of seepage into the basement) and power out from 12:00 PM till 8:00 PM. The area had the typical down trees but as a whole the Chicagoland area fared pretty well.
nance56 Posted November 18, 2013 #12 Posted November 18, 2013 We just had strong winds and heavy rain. Power was out for a few minutes. Nothing like the people northwest of us. We were very lucky. Prayers for the victims.
sleepy2 Posted November 18, 2013 #13 Posted November 18, 2013 High winds here in Woodstock & Ingersoll Ont. Have to replace back fence now. Est. $2400 for 6` high by 65` long
dacheedah Posted November 18, 2013 #14 Posted November 18, 2013 Finding pictures and effects from Washington 30 miles away. Pages are up to recover and reunite people with their possessions. I drove home from deer camp and we were between cells it was eerie. Semi trucks tossed on their sides, every lighted construction sign thrown from their spots, one was a good 50 yards from the roadway. Thoughts and prayers to our neighbors south west.

RandyR Posted November 21, 2013 #19 Posted November 21, 2013 ....... Dynodon hasn't been on the forum for several weeks. Hopefully he's just too busy helping his neighbors right now to worry about the internet.
Prairiehammer Posted November 21, 2013 #20 Posted November 21, 2013 Has anybody heard anything from DynoDon??? He lives in Washington,Il. Hoping everything is OK. I was wondering the same thing, so I PMed Rick Haywood with the question. His response was that he had not talked to Don lately, but that Don lives a mile from the tornado path and would not have suffered any damage.
Galapagos Posted November 22, 2013 #22 Posted November 22, 2013 Batten down the hatches. Lake effect and cold in Ohio this weekend.
