I will admit to occasionally looking at the new Ultra Classic Harleys but every time I do it's like looking at another woman and then looking back at my wife and thinking, yeah, she ain't as purty as she used to be 30 years ago but damn can she cook.

Wrench Posted November 28, 2013 #85 Posted November 28, 2013 Had my first one, an '04 Midnight, for 5 years. Back issues forced the sale of it and the purchase of an '03 Roadstar. Rode it for a year, things got better, so I bought a low mileage '99 red/silver in Aug '12. I don't foresee this one going anywhere anytime soon. I LOVE these bikes, very easy to own.
Brown Angel Posted November 28, 2013 #86 Posted November 28, 2013 I have had my 86 for Four years and got her when she had 40k miles. I have put a lot of parts on her to light her up and make her sparkle! Loved all the friends I have made during these times. They are addicting and I keep finding new things to do to her all the time.
BuckShot Posted December 1, 2013 #87 Posted December 1, 2013 Bought mine in 1986 and still loving her. 27 years later still riding her. Won't sell the old girl because the wife and I took our honeymoon on her.
Phoneman1981 Posted December 1, 2013 #88 Posted December 1, 2013 Hello Everyone: Interesting read. After a 25 year absence from the sport, we purchased our "new to us" 05 RSTD in July of 2007. It had 15k on it then. Just what our marrige needed. The bike now has 50K on it and many memories with friends from this site. The bike has had a few near misses. Tornado damaged storage unit, building shifted, could not raise the garage door. Fire at same storage unit a year later consumed 12 other units but stopped one unit short of ours. Heavy smoke damage (No heat damage) but fine otherwise. ( I think I will name her "Lucky") I suspect my wife likes to ride on our bike more than I do.
