Yup, looks like after 111,000 trouble free miles, the rear shock on RedRider has bit the dust. Had a flat rear tire and I was checking if I could see the hole. While inspecting I noticed some fluid on the ground in front of the rear tire. Reddish color. Only one thing that can be. Looked up at the base of the shock and there was a drip of fluid there.

It's gone. Lived a good life.

OK, now. Works or Hagon?

PS. Found the hole. Small pin hole almost in the center. Tomorrow night I will plug it. Should last me until I swap it out right before Butt Lite 7.

Jeff I just put a Hagon standard on mine a few weeks ago and love it only bad part is adjusting preload had to remove the shock. Is a big price difference compared to Works.

I also went with Hagon (heavy duty for me). Love it but I think I still need to do some adjusting. Hagon said they set it to where they think it should be based on the weights I gave them and to try it first and then adjust it if needed. It was stiff which I like, but maybe to stiff. I did back it off some and it feels better. May go a bit more in the near future. And to adjust mine, I did not remove the shock but it was a pain in the a^^. I couldn't use the supplied shock wrench either. I just used a big set of adjustable channel locks and very carefully turned the nut.

Thanks guys. I will need to see if it is in stock so I can get it put on while still on the lift.

Didn't need this in the budget this month.

regular or heavy duty?

I got the heavy duty and like it just fine.

I'm kind of a big guy. HD for me - set up for about 320 lbs (that is with full pack and aux fuel - not all me).

I am 320 on my own. Then add baggage (on a trip) and then 150 pounds if my wife rides. Hagon heavy duty is awesome with fatty me and the wife both riding. And like I said, I like stiff, but it was a little stiff with factory setting for just me. Back it off some and it is perfect.

BB,

That is good to know. When I go on a ride with my bride, we top out about 400 lbs (265 me, about 135 soaking wet for the wife). She brings enough stuff that we generally pull the trailer instead of pack the saddle bags / trunk.
