Eck Posted November 9, 2013 #2 Posted November 9, 2013 I would love to go too.............but I would have to get a job first.. http://www.zhangjiajietourism.us/plan-flight.html http://www.zhangjiajietourism.us/plan-accommodation.html http://www.zhangjiajietourism.us/plan-travelers.html http://www.zhangjiajietourism.us/packages.html
RandyR Posted November 9, 2013 #3 Posted November 9, 2013 I think a hang glider would be the way to travel there.
CaptainJoe Posted November 9, 2013 Author #4 Posted November 9, 2013 Perhaps I'll hit the lottery so we can go...lol Wishing you luck on the job hunt. From what I've gathered over the years you shouldn't have to wait to long, just hope it's close to home.
Mike G in SC Posted November 9, 2013 #5 Posted November 9, 2013 A business associate goes to China a couple of times a year. He showed me a pic of a biker group,,, retired men on 125's going for a week ride. Happy bunch. But the "reality bytes" of MC riding there,,,, well probably no RSV's. See this Wiki link. Go 2/3 the way down for "Motorcycles". That is indeed beautiful country! But, I think I like our MC freedom better. http://wikitravel.org/en/Driving_in_China Oh,,, there is a "bike tours" section with links.
Eck Posted November 9, 2013 #6 Posted November 9, 2013 Perhaps I'll hit the lottery so we can go...lol Wishing you luck on the job hunt. From what I've gathered over the years you shouldn't have to wait to long, just hope it's close to home. I'm not really LOOKING for a job... However, I just agreed (yesterday) to go back to Columbus, MS for a two weeks gig ...they called and asked me to come to Columbus, MS for two weeks and then asked if I would help them out by going to Canton, GA for 3 days and then to Rhode Island for 3 weeks, so I agreed to go back to work for a little while. Heck its getting cold here and besides that, my bike is tore down at the moment sitting on a jack, because I am doing complete maintenance from front to back on it so I cant ride it anyway right now. May as well make a little extra money while it is being offered..
CaptainJoe Posted November 9, 2013 Author #7 Posted November 9, 2013 I think a hang glider would be the way to travel there. glide ratio of a hang glider is 15. How high do you think you'd have to be to get there? Since I noticed your not from Washington state or Colorado... Zhangjiajie,China to Sandyville,WV is 7680.77miles http://www.distancefromto.net/

Thanks Mike, believe I'd have to rent one as getting my bike there an back would be EXPENSIVE. Not to mention the possiblity of having it confiscated? ouch!

The traffic in Chinese cities sounds almost as bad as Atlanta. Do the Chinese train here? I'll bet you could! Ha! Although... you might need oxygen, insulation and possibly some type of heat shield for re-entry... Train would would be best way to get there, but would still want to ride a bike on those twisties... even if it was a 250
