Bulldawg Posted February 27, 2008 #1 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi, Just ordered three sets of brake pads from Dennis Kirk for my 83 VR....I've searched for posts - found some good stuff on bleeding...is the actual change over much of a problem? It appears all three sets of calipers should come right off...guess I'm looking for any hidden issues. Thanks in advance, Rick
Freebird Posted February 27, 2008 #2 Posted February 27, 2008 I've never had to bleed the brakes due to changing the pads. I simply use a pair of channel lock pliers to slowly squeeze the rams in before removing the old pads. I compress them all the way in. Very slowly. Then put on the new pads and re-install. Have done it that way for years with no problems at all.
Dano Posted February 27, 2008 #3 Posted February 27, 2008 I forget the name of it, but on my rears I had to use a brake pad adhesive to keep them from clattering around. Drove me nuts trying to figure out the noise! Cheap insurance, though. Good luck, Dan
