XV1100SE Posted November 4, 2013 #1 Posted November 4, 2013 Anyone have a set for the 2nd Gen they'd like to part with ?
friesman Posted November 4, 2013 #2 Posted November 4, 2013 I thought you already had ALL the shiny parts on that bike chromed already! Careful too much Chrome can slow ya down, it weighs more and youll wanna stop and polish instead of riding it! brian
XV1100SE Posted November 4, 2013 Author #3 Posted November 4, 2013 I got the backing plates for the passenger floorboards and horn brackets (they go behind and below the passenger floorboards) from Slowrollwv and with the shiny parts there.... figured the battery covers would give more flow to the chrome. I've seen the chrome battery covers on ebay for $190 but if I can get a better deal, I'd rather do that. As for chrome.... you have enough when it starts to take too long to polish the bike.
tomephil Posted November 4, 2013 #4 Posted November 4, 2013 Great, so now your bike is going to have even more safety chrome then mine.... Oh well, Tom
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted November 4, 2013 #5 Posted November 4, 2013 As for chrome.... you have enough when it starts to take too long to polish the bike. It NEVER EVER takes too long to polish the bike... or in my case the bikes. just saying......
EasyRider Posted November 4, 2013 #6 Posted November 4, 2013 Isn't that something they sell at Harley dealerships??? My Midnight Venture came with lifetime paint and shine. Think it must be time to change out of my rose colored glasses.
XV1100SE Posted November 4, 2013 Author #7 Posted November 4, 2013 It NEVER EVER takes too long to polish the bike... or in my case the bikes. Just saying .... if on a warm sunny day it takes longer than 30 minutes to wash and dry the bike.... it is too long. More chrome.... more to dry and polish. Rather be spending the time riding !
bongobobny Posted November 4, 2013 #9 Posted November 4, 2013 I've seen the chrome battery covers on ebay for $190 but if I can get a better deal, I'd rather do that. Did you check out Diamond R??
XV1100SE Posted November 4, 2013 Author #10 Posted November 4, 2013 Did you check out Diamond R?? $139... not bad. Do they chrome the plastic? You have to send in the old covers and they send you chromed ones.
slowrollwv Posted November 4, 2013 #11 Posted November 4, 2013 I got the backing plates for the passenger floorboards and horn brackets (they go behind and below the passenger floorboards) from Slowrollwv and with the shiny parts there.... figured the battery covers would give more flow to the chrome. bongobobny Posted November 5, 2013 #12 Posted November 5, 2013 $139... not bad. Do they chrome the plastic? You have to send in the old covers and they send you chromed ones. No, just the metal side pieces. The center piece does not get chromed. You ship them yours in exchange. They can't have any dents...
XV1100SE Posted November 5, 2013 Author #13 Posted November 5, 2013 Response from Allen Hall @ Diamond R : "We are fixing to run a sale on our covers, $109.95 exchange plus shipping a savings of $30.00. If you are interested, you can place the order securely online and we will make the credit when we process your order." Going to go with them.
