gas cap

Hi,

I have a gas tank on my 84 venture thats leaking. I purchased another one from ebay and the gas cap opening is smaller. I havent had it installed yet. Do you think this could be the wrong tank or did they make them with two different size openings for the first gen.?

You could always take the original tank, go to the parts store and buy some "Kreem". You clean out the tank with the stuff provided, apply the sealer, it coats the tank and also prevents rusting of the tank. Done this toa couple of dirt bikes, works great and doesn't cost that much.

Already did that about a year ago. It just started back leaking recently. Good news though, i found a new gas cap on ebay for the other tank at a very good price. here is the link if anyone is intrested. http://stores.ebay.com/carolina-cycles
