jakester Posted October 23, 2013 #7 Posted October 23, 2013 No refineries in the last 20+ years. EPA will not let it happen. Feds fuel mix requirements vary as per winter-summer-altitude-location. Regulations and such. Most (over half) of cost of fuel is TAX.
Sailor Posted October 26, 2013 #9 Posted October 26, 2013 Just got back from England. Fuel is about $8.00/gal there. I rented a Hyundai with a tiny diesel engine. Got incredible mileage.
GeorgeS Posted October 26, 2013 Author #10 Posted October 26, 2013 Just got back from England. Fuel is about $8.00/gal there. I rented a Hyundai with a tiny diesel engine. Got incredible mileage. Well, thats because the roads are so " Narrow " and the place is only about 1/3 the size of Texas !!

As long as it's about 10/15 cents a mile it's OK. Ours used to run that about 5-6 years ago, but since then it's gotten rediculous.... Hmmmm?? Wonder where it's all going....???
